Dalglish, I think the fans who put the banner up at the game are entitled to do so as long as it shows respect for the other fans in the ground. People pay to watch liverpool, the paying public should be able to make a protest either prior to a game or after it, which I think the two fans that were evicted from the ground were doing. The acted sensibly and appropriately and should continue to be able to veiw their opinions in a respectful manner.
As for the imbeciles who wrote on the walls at Melwood. They're not Liverpool fans I suspect some Manc's had nothing to do so drove down to Liverpool and wrote that cr#p up. Whoever wrote is not helping the legitimate debate about Houlliers future and unlike Thor I believe that the fans as the 'bread and butter' of the club have as much right as the board and owners to air their views. Houllier should do a Shankly and go and meet the fans. If he met a delegation of season ticket holders they could air their veiws and he could make his point. I personally have always said that he's arogant and I base that on what ex-players have told me and what has been written.
One more think Someone here posted a thread a few months back about the easy ride Houllier gets from the media. I think that was an accurate assessment I belive the media give him an easy timeand in many ways print stories which are propoganda in essence. These same rags would have the head of any England manager long ago if he'd a similar record to Houllier. Sir Bobby Robson done an outsatnding job for England yet the press slaughtered him. Now he's a legend in their eyes. I don't read the Sun, but you can't help hearing from some idiots whats wrote in it and I wonder if the ba#ta#ds are supporting him to either endear themselves with some fans or are they sticking two fingers up at those of us who don't read it. Its a bit likethe Manu Fans whosay Houlliers doinga good job, for Man U and Arsenal he bloody well is. 13 games to go 26 points behind enough said.
