EL-HADJ DIOUF will walk into an Anfield void when he returns this summer from Bolton.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, while desperate to add striking power to the squad that takes on Villa today, has declared him persona non grata.
But he will not loan out the Senegalese striker again - and the only escape will be if interested clubs are prepared to pay around ??5million.
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce wants to sign Diouf permanently but Birmingham and Villa are also preparing bids. And both will have more cash to spend in the summer than Big Sam.
Diouf will not be the only one to find himself heading for the Anfield exit door - Harry Kewell, Milan Baros, Josemi, Neil Mellor and Jerzy Dudek are also likely to be going.
Baros and Dudek are poised to start next week's Champions League final but Benitez plans a big clear-out.
He said: "I have worked hard on how my players approach games - especially away games in the Premiership where they have made me very disappointed. In the end, if you cannot change the mentality, you change the player."
Well not hardly surprised by who might be going. Though I was prepared to give Josemi some time to adapt but it seems that the only thing he's helped us with is Finnan, when Rafa bought Josemi that gave Finnan a kick up his ar$e and ever since he's been solid.
