points? yes. ability to grind out 1 - 0 victories, yes. keeping clean sheets, yes (eve 14, liv 7). however, it does not mean that they are a better team and play better football. ability to play in europe, no. goal difference, no (how often do we see a team in 4th with a possible -ive gd??). scoring, no. quality of football, no. on paper, player for player, no (maybe with the exception of martyn). it not because everton is brilliant, just that we were astonishingly inconsistent and unlucky with injuries et al. next year will tell. liverpool reigns.
