Gerard voted fans player of the season - Cant believe it's not carra.

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Saw this on RAWK. You all know how much I love Stevie G and for me he was easily our second most important player this season but I cant believe Carra didn't come first with the fans! I presume the voters on .tv aren't representative of all LFC supporters.

Steven Gerrard has retained his award for supporters player of the season after coming out on top in our fans online poll which has been running all season on a match by match basis.
Gerrard edged out Jamie Carragher to win the supporters award with Xabi Alonso third, Milan Baros fourth and Luis Garcia fifth.

Throughout the course of this season Liverpoolfc.tv have selected who we think are the Reds best five players at the end of each match, and after every match you the supporters get to choose your top five players online.

With the best player receiving five points and the fifth best performer picking up a point, all five players from each match are entered into a league table that will run all season.

The player with the most points at the end of the season will be awarded the trophy for Liverpoolfc.tv Writers Player of the Year, and a trophy for the fans choice as well.

Last season, you - the supporters - agreed with the website staff and voted Steven Gerrard our Player of the Year.

This season Jamie Carragher has already won the Liverpoolfc.tv Writers Player of the season, while Steven Gerrard has now retained his supporters player of the year title.

Gerrard was voted the fans star man during the weekend defeat by Arsenal in in an exclusive poll on this website. Gerrard earned 2,892 of the votes to take five points to finish in first place with Djibril Cisse in second place with 1,068 votes to get four points.

Xabi Alonso was third with 564 votes and three points, Jamie Carragher fourth with 491 votes and two points and Harry Kewell fifth with 419 votes and one point.

How the hell does Kewell get in 5th when he's missed out on nearly all of the season?

Simple remedy, get the Season ticket Holders to vote only and then at least you stop the "kids" voting ???

Anyone with an hole in their backside could tell you Carragher has been streets ahead of Stevie :O

That's a load of :censored:. Look at where Finnan and Hyypia are and where Kewell and Baros are and you get the idea of what that table means.

Wouldnt be surpried if .tv, fixed that result....WHY??  No doubt as its the official website the players will hear about it (maybe be given a presentation or trophy too, i dont know!!). That way SG will hear of the support from the fans that he has got (even tho HE MUST KNOW he has been poor this season) and somehow pull at his heartstrings......far fetched i know, but i always ready for a CONSPIRACY.
WE ALL KNOW IT WAAS CARRA, by a country mile

I'm not a season ticket holder as i live in Brum, but i've still got some sense (and i'm not a kid by the way).  I'd agree that the poll is a joke.  Anyone who's watched us this season will know that Carra has been our best player by a mile.  I'd Definately have Finnan in my top five aswell.

Hi Red Indian , it wasn't a dig at NON Season Ticket Holders just a  suggestion as to how best represent the fans when doing these kind of polls.

If you open it to everyone then yiou can't definitively claim it's a representation of fans as it's open to multiple voting and those who pick Gerrard or Owen from previous polls on the basis that they are the players who get the most exposure in the media.

Exactly the point I was going to make! You beat me to it, you Bas*ard!!!!!lol!!!! :p   :D

How JC hasn't won it this year is totally beyond me. The lad has been a star, deserved it, and will be gutted not to get it. That takes nothing away from Gerrard, as even he has said JC is amazing. Some people just go with their favourites no matter what.
Well done Stevie lad, and hard lines JC. I hope your both battling for the award next year!!!! Up the 'pool! :buttrock

these tables dont reflect our season. a player could be great 9 or 10 games and loose there form for the rest of the season and still finish high up the table. It would give a fair reflection if players were to loose points for poor performances
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

Its not about who is the best player. It simply a popularity contest. But I'm still surprise Diao got a vote haha.  :D

I would have had Finnan as number 2 behind JC. What a joke. I think some "fans" read the papers who seem to worship SG and make out he saves us AGAIN anytime he scores.
