Saving the seazon in europe - Levski appears to be the challenge now?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Well... the glorious Liverpool was led to the bottom by the awful french manager Houllier. Championship race expectations are narrowed down to 4-5th place - an embarassing fact for a club who has the most fascinating history in England and one of the best in Europe. Liverpool is thrown out of the FA Cup by the mediocre team of Portsmouth... sometimes it happens, but not that often when you pretend to be a club like Liverpool - a name which is pronounced with great respect(and nostalgy) all over the world. Champions League successes are more than dream in this moment, so all that's left for the cup-thirst of the LFC supporters is the UEFA Cup. And next step in this tournament is Levski Sofia... A faillure against the bulgarians will result in a deep crisis for the Pride of Mersyside... or maybe the opposite - it'll speed up the doom of Houllier who can participate in the contest "The worst football manager in the World"... and win it!
But who are Levski? Just another poor Eastern-european club with the great ambition to play in the Champions League soon. Or at least play some memorable games in Europe. I believe the LFS ask theirselves "who is Levski in Euro-tournaments?". Well since 1993 when we (I am a Levski supporter) threw out Glasgow Rangers from the Cup of the European Champions (3-2 in Scottland and 2-1 in Sofia) we didn't do anything worthy. We had some embarassing losts against Olimpia(Slovenia), Slovan(Slovakia), Aalst(Belgium) and FC Coppenhagen... Since 1999 there's a new Levski - we welcomed Liupko Petrovich in Sofia - the legendary serbian coach whose efforts led Crvena Zvezda(Belgrade) to the Cup of the Euro Champions in 1991... so in the autumn of 1999 we've reached the 2nd round of UEFA Cup (Bulgarian Clubs still play an extra round - quallifications for Euro-tournaments) where clashed Euro Superpower Juventus - Del Piero, Zidan, Boksich and co. We've lost 1-3 in Sofia, but played great game at "Delle Alpi" where got the draw 1-1 and had bad luck with goal cancelled by the refferee :(  Nextyear played in the quallifications for Champs League and lost agains turkish Beshiktash after beating 2 opponents. Next year same thing this time - Galatasaray 2-1 in Istanbul and 1-1 in Sofia (right after Galatasaray successful seazon in UEFA Cup). Next year it was Dynamo Kiev to end our hopes 0-1 in Sofia and 1-1 in Kiev (we've missed a penalty at 1-1 :( ). Last year we've had an unlucky penalty heartbreak with Sturm(Austria) after 1-0 in Grats and 1-0 here. This year we kicked out Slavia Prague with 2 draws - 2-2 and 0-0. No one expects we're gonna do the same to LFC, but keep it in mind - you will meet an opponent ready to die for Euro success (win over LFC is one :D ), players who dream to play in The Premier League and fans who want and deserve happiness!

Dear  Liverpool  fans !! There is only one football club in Bulgaria  , which can pretend to be the club of the Bulgarian people presenting the Bulgarian football in Europe and all around the world ! This is CSKA SOFIA - THE PRIDE OF BULGARIA!!
Liverpool  has our support against this funny blue club called Levski ! WE hope that u will  crush the  blues and  continue in the  next round of UEFA !
In Sofia there will  be  more than 3000 Bulgarians in your sector , who will  support  Liverpool! Almost every fan of CSKA has a place in his/her heart for the REDS from Liverpool !!

AND Also good luck in your fight for the Champions League zone in the Premiership. The red fans in BUlgaria are hoping to  see  u in the Champions league for the next season.
