Finnan happy to be underdogs for the final

Finnan is counting down the days to biggest game in the club's history since the European Cup Final of 1984.

And while Liverpool's participation in next season's competition remains uncertain the Irish full-back is in no doubt that victory over the Italian giants at the Ataturk Stadium means more than securing a top four finish in the Premiership.

"I'd take winning the final over finishing fourth and hopefully that will be enough to be in it next season," he says.

"Over the two legs against Chelsea we deserved it. We kept two clean sheets and came up with a goal. Tactically, we got it right. We were close to going out against Olympiacos, and since then we've just grown in confidence.

"We're the underdogs going into the final but we've been in that position all through the competition ? and it hasn't worried us so far."I reckon that we should be underdogs cos it makes the team more up for it and prove them wrong like we have against juve and chelsea. So lets go out and win as underdogs again!
