First class performance by the Reds especially in the 2nd half.Holds the possessions very well & the back four was solid.Ive confident tat we can really go through to the Finals.Especially, the 2nd leg will be at Anfield which is awesome.Rafa n the players will be more than happy wif the results tonite.

But,im quite concern though tat Alonso won't be wif us next week.

I was a bit disapointed with Traore, he just seemed to be easily beaten. Cole gave him a hard time and he just wasn't solid as he was against Juventus.

We had our chances and so did Chelsea, hoped for an away goal but pleased with the result.

Without Alonso next week, week defenitely have to play with two strikers up front.  Keep the pressure on them.

Funny how we are always the side that is unfavored to advance.  Even after we beat Juve in the first leg, they were in the drivers seat.  We draw away at the bridge, Chelsea in the drivers seat.  Its rather frustrating actually.

Great display by the Reds tonight.  The attack desires a tad bit more, but our defense came through.  And Gudjohnsen was lining up Xabi for that the whole second half.  You knew when the outcome was fairly certain, Chelski were going to start diving like Argentinian Internationals!!!

Strange game. I don't either side played particularly well. ???

In the first half we seemed a bit slow to second balls and our left side of the defence was all over the place. Yet Chelsea couldn't capitalise and we had a few chances ourselves.

In the second half we tightened things up a lot and I don't know what Chelsea were doing. They moved Lampard and Gudjohnson up alongside Drogba and hit long balls, most of which we defended easily and we then slowly took control of midfield before the end of the match.

Xabi Alonso's passing range was all over the place, Gerrard, Baros or Garcia weren't in the game at all. Magnificent result but an odd performance.

We'll see an entirely different match next week, however.

What are you talking about. Traore was absolutely top class today. he had three or four amazing tackles, some good runs and a solid performance overall.

I'd rather we were seen as the underdogs any day, so the more Mourinho spouts his mouth off about how they'll beat us at Anfield the merrier :)

Well done the lads!

0-0 isn't a great result away from home, but it's a good result.  Considering we were supposedly rank outsiders at the start, the team did really well, and Rafa neutralised Mourinho's formation perfectly.

Troare was poor in the first half. Two examples: Cole climbing above him to meet Gallas' cross and Troare running to the wrong man (with the ball rebounding off him) leading up to Terry's mis-shot.

He was hugely improved in the second half.

However, I want to emphasise that it was a great result, well done the lads, but an odd performance.  :D

Three or for amazing tackles? I must had seen it differently because in the begining Joe Cole went around him as he wasn't there which could had lead to a goal.

Everytime he goes forward nine times out of ten he gives the ball away with a poor pass. Clearly Chelsea saw him as a weak link as most of the attacking was done down Traore's side.

Oh he's 100 percent confident that Chelsea will win at our turf, he knew it could had ended up as a draw but he didn't expect us to defend so well and prevent his side from scoring.

Before the match Lawro said "I can't see how Liverpool can beat Chelsea".  After the match he said "I can't see how how Liverpool can play the same formation without Alonso".  If he can't see anything why's he spouting his mouth off pretending to be an expert?!
I wish he'd go back to Brighton!

Looks to me like Jose just did Rafas team talk for Tuesday. He always comes out posturing when hes rattled. Like a big kid 'we will beat you next time, nur nur na nur nur'. What a complete ******. He wont fancy bringing his boys to Liverpool under the lights, whatever ****** comes out of big mouth. We have them where we want them and just need to go in for the kill. Victory will be ours and my it will taste so very sweet  :)
