Hi Kenco , it's been that kind of season mate and it wouldn;'t surprise me to see LFC finish 4th after all.

Everton have to travel to Arsenal , Fulham (Who maybe dragged into the Relegation dogfight yet) and Bolton. They have a solitary Home game against Newcastle who have lost the last 5 or 6 on the tort so that runs due to end soon ......

Liverpol have Boro and Villa at home and Arsenal Away (A week before the FA Cup Final ). If we pick up 9pts then Everton have to win at least 2 of those 4 games. If they win 1 and draw the others it won't be eniough as Liverpool will pip them on goal difference ...

Bolton have Chelsea at home this weekend then travel to Portsmouth before the last game at home against Everton. Lets assume they get beat by Chelsea and draw with Portsmouth. That leaves them fighting for a UEFA place assuming Boro win their game in hand (tonight against Newcastle) or beat Spurs at home or city Away on the final day. We shouldtell Bolton they can have Diouff for FREE IF they beat Everton !!!!!! :D

it certainly isn't over, but we more or less have to win our last 3 games, which is not unlikely. Boro and Villa at home are winnable, Arsenal at Highbury may make the difference. The way this season is going you never know.

Everton must be favourites, but they still have two away games which they could lose, and that would mean they have to win both home games as their GD isn't as good as ours.

This doesn't hide from the fact that we currently don't deserve that 4th palce, and it is going to take a big turn around in the last 3 games to change that.

Fulham Away is not going to be easy. They are currently 5 pts off the relagation places although they do have THREE home ganes including Everton , Newcastle and Norwich with an Away truip to Blackburn ....

Everton are whinging again about being deprived of "their" Champions League place if we win the tournament. They have brought up Hysel again, saying that they were due to compete in the European Cup in 1985/86 but weren't allowed to because of Liverpool. :O

I think it would be an outrage if say, we won the trophy but were not allowed to defend it, instead a team who would make no impression whatsoever in next season's competition were allowed to compete ahead of us.

I can understand how Everton can be annoyed but if we won you cannot deprive the champions of their chance to defend the trophy. An extra place to accomodate everyone should be found.

should be but won't be.

Why they can't put the extra English team into the first qualifying tound instead os some Bulgarian or Albanian miners team who will get beaten 10-0 on agrregate is beyond me?

yeah, let both us and everton in and boot out inter milan who should be banned from europe anyway instead of getting a ten shilling fine or whatever it was.

Because the competition is for EUROPE all the countries.  Ridiculous to talk of booting out smaller teams, they deserve their five minutes of fame.  Why dont we make the season smaller and go straigh to the semis with the FA cup as the smaller clubs wont make it.  See my point.

The problem is UEFA did not specify that the holders will qualify, instead the route is via domestic leagues.

I know theres a precedence with Madrid but they have a bit more influence domestically than we do

UEFA have completely made a balls up of this situation and are backing away from it.  With the it happened to Madrid argument, they did not boot out Everton who will be fighting all the way.

All we need is a strong FA to make the decision

Believe me we will be on such a high after two great performances against chelski and the resulting qualification for istanbul that we will all ride the red wave into the fourth slot. Come on boys how many times have we seen people write us off??? WALK ON!!!!!!!!!!
