There is only one Michael Owen!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Wonder how many of the fools who critisised Owen the last few years are eating there words now...

The amount of points away from home he got us by scoring a winner or an equalising goal is showing. We miss him badly.

I remember everyone saying how we'd miss Gerrard more if he left at this time last season, i got slated for saying we'd miss Owen more, i've been proved right though.

Without Gerrard this season in general we've been alot better than with Gerrard.

We've missed Owen in nearly every game we've played.

Couldnt agree more.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

By the way Keane is also a Liverpool fan (Then again so were Smicer & Kewell).  Forsell is good but how many FULL seasons has he played in the prem?  Despite all the criticism Baros has been our best striker this season and he absolutely scared the cr*p out of Thuram in the 1st half against Juve at Anfield, but like everyone else he's inconsistant.

If Palace get relegated his price will be cut severely, as Palace will need funds badly. Plus Johnson will want out after proving he can cut it at the top level.

I must be right, cos Rafa rates him too apparently.  :D  :p

Yeah .. i do agree.its very frustrating when we do need the vital goal from the strikers n they end up putting it on the wrong end.

John Craig, look at the league table. It doesn't lie. We miss Owen's goals.

He is the main reason we were so good away from home.

Wihtout question.

I agree that we do miss someone like Owen and it will be hard to replace him, Baros is definetly not the answer ,Cisse will get better as time goes i  think he would need a natural striker to play off .
Morientes and Cisse would compliment each other but im not to sure if they would bag alot of goals between them .Who knows time will tell.

I don't think anyone really doubts we miss Owen, because he is a qulaity player.

But the fact is that he was going stale at us. He just didnt want to play for us anymore. Was it really worth keeping him if his mind wasn't 100% on the job.

Luke what you are saying is right, we do miss a 20-goal a season striker but owen is not the answer.  He wasn't 100% committed to us and wanted to go.  We need to move on and find another solution.

Stu needs to fu(king realise that Owen is not coming back any time soon.  Every time I come on this site he is whining about missing owen, so stop boring everyone stu FFS

stu the way you`ve been going on its like we sold owen, he ****** off on us.
it wasn`t a "oooh, look whats come out the blue, real madrid are in for me" type of situation, owen knew by not signing the contract that was on the table for the best part of two years he was sending out the signals to other clubs that he didnt want to know at anfield.
even after the mcmanaman situatiuon where the club lost a fortune and vowed never to fall for the same trick again liverpool let him run his contract down to the wire because they were that desperate to keep him.
rafa basically went over and begged him to stay in the euro`s but michael let him know in no uncertain terms where his future lie, rafa and michael were not like ships passing in the night - michael was at the club a good few weeks under rafa but he let rafa know he was leaving even when he was wearing a red shirt on the subs bench because we couldnt use him in the champions league qualifiers.
stu, do us a favour mate and stop talking like we let owen go, i was gutted when owen left because he is a cracking goalscorer (i have seen better though) and watched him play enough times to know it. he ****** off on us and he planned it for at least eighteen months.
