Strangely, i'm not as nervous about facing Chelsea than i was facing Juventus. Maybe its the familiarity with a fellow Prem side but whatever the case it's most certainly winnable.

Looking at the 3 times we have faced them already this season it is apparrent we have nothing to fear. A boring encounter at Chelsea settled by a solitary goal, completely outplaying them at Anfield and losing to a deflected goal and a ref with no backbone and the final of the Carling Cup where we scored early and concede possession for the next 89 mins ???

Bring it on I say , we have got so used to being written off we don't know when we're supposed to live up to that undeserved label

:D

There is no reason to be worried about Cheatski one bit.I like your analysis big mick but I doubt whether UEFA would ever try to influence a game just to get one over that whinging, whineing cheat.Don't be surprised if he tries to pull a few dirty tricks with the aid of his adopted media friend sky sportski news.

Have you seen the new articles released?  apparently Mourinho is calling Benitez a good friend who he has a very good friendship with.  Seems like he's tryin not to give our players a reason to get fired up, unlike Juve and other teams we've played.  Even Ronaldinho took a swipe at us; but then again he can watch us on the tele.

Mourinho is not stupid, so therefore he won't say anything that could possibly fire us up however he doesn't have to say anything, the media will run their mouths sooner or later.

i think home games will end up in home victories.. so to score more in home games will be a very important factor... do u think there is a possiblity that the cisse - baros partnership will be on?

The pressure is all on them to win. We are underdogs, and we play better against teams "above" us than below us.

I'd be more worried if we were playing Bolton.

Chelsea are due some bad luck and defensive errors.

Drogba can unsettle European teams, but our defenders will be happy to deal with long balls to him all day.

Alonso has come back for us at the right time to control the middle.

1-1 at the bridge. 2-1 at home.

I would rather we meet Chelsea than Bayern Munich and I think many would agree as well. Deep down Chelsea will think the premiership battle is over. The pressure of winning the CL will be enourmous. If we play the high tempo game, Chelsea won't be able to cope. That's our strength. Once we take a 1st leg lead, the tie will be very difficult for Chelsea as witness by the improved defensive display between protecting the lead in the Carling Cup final and the defensive wonderjob at Turin (if Gerrard didn't score against us, we would already have won a cup). Watching the Premiership game against Chelsea at Anfield and it is very clear we should have won the game comfortably.

Don't know about you but I have a hunch that Stevie Gerrard will give us two marvelous displays and be the main difference in this tie.

the question was how many games did they fail to score in, losing 3-2 against bayern does not count as they scored 2 goals in that game. we need to sit down and talk     :D
