Hasn't the guy scored something like 25 League goals this season!?! + how many hatricks? In that case we'd give anything for a shadow of a shadow of his former self!

Didn't henry go something like 12 games without scoring recently?  Hardly player of the year form

Not denying he is a great player but his form has dipped since early this season

Could be right John but i thought it was more like 6/7 games? I believe he has bounced back with a couple of hatricks since then though. The guy has scored 7 more league goals than any other player so he has to be on the list

Henry is still the best striker in the Prem. There really is no doubt about it. But you also see the service he gets. Johnson has bagged plenty of goals with the Palace midfield - I think we gotta see him play for a class team before he can win the player of the year. Gerrard should be replaced by Carra..or if by another midfielder Cahill. Carra has been a rock for us and Stevie has missed too many games this season to be nominated - so I agree with everyon who has posted.

I bite my tongue for sayin this, I think Terry should get it. He's the heart of Chelseas Defence and I reckon more important than Lampard

And who scored the Hat-trick when Arsenal thrased Norwich 4-1 at Carrow Road just a couple of weeks ago? and you can take a look at the goal scoring table.  thats says everything really.

I think you have mistakened for Baros...[/quote]
Mistakened for Baros??

Nah think I made my point fairly clearly mate.  A hat-trick against Norwich doesn't really impress me as much as it seems to have impressed you.

I didn't slate Henry and I still think he is the best striker in the prem but he has not done enough for me to win the award.  He has scored a lot of goals in fits and bursts against the weaker teams rather than being consistent this season.  Maybe this is because Arsenal haven't been as strong this year.

But most of your posts are nonsense anyway so I'll not be offended by your comments

Yeah think it was longer than 6/7 games but maybe you're right mate.

I know he's top scorer in the league and as I've said he is a fantastic player, but I don't think he will win the award this season for a 3rd time in a row realistically.

The list should comprise people who can realistically deserve to win the award, not people who have scored a lot or have big reputations.

Despite Henry's scoring record, no one can say that he has been either consistent or on top form this season, therefore he does not deserve the award.  Just my opinion though i guess

Theiry Henry has been Arsenal's player of the season thus far. Why? Because for one he scores a lot of goals (obvious). Then, he has a high work rate for a flair player. Also, Arsenal have tended to struggle without him - this is because he often comes from the left and Arsenal tend to attack from this side and do not have much options when he is either absent or subdued or off form.

Are Arsenal a one man team? If so, what does that statement make of Cole, Campbell (when he plays), Pires, Ljunberg, Viera (who has been the one mostly off form) etc. Arsenal are too reliant on Henry who, besided scoring goals also do a lot of assists, in fact to the doubters, are there any players out there who has scored as much as Henry who also contribute to the creation of goals? You can't expect to win championships if there is an overly reliance on one player. Arsenal, this season, has been guilty of that.

Should Henry be in the shortlist of nominated players for the PFA award? I think so, based on his contributions  to the Arsenal cause despite his team mates' shortcoming.

As for SG, it is unfortunate that his few telling contributions in a personally yo-yo season should be more noticed than the ever dependent Carra. Anyway, if either were to be nominated, I think that John Terry is the most deserving based on his outstanding performances and leadership for Chelsea this season. We have never had this kind of influential player since Graeme Souness.

Its joke that Gerrard who has failed to perform in many big games this season( Roy Keane ****** on him, lucky not to be sent off against olympiacas, ****** game and own goal in Carling cup final, suspended for big game against Leverkusen and out for game away to Juve) is nominated.

Forgot his penalty miss at a crucial time (in season and match) against spurs although in fairness he missed his last one too (keep him away from penalties!)
