Hyypia - Time ain't up yet lad

Credit to the boy becuase hes played fantasticlly in the 2 legs against Juve. Hes kept his concentration, positional values have been great, good in the air and has kicked the ball out whenever he can in the defence and most of all, hasn't been sloppy

Due to this is probably because he hasn't been playing in the premiership against Man City and Bolton which had given him a big rest and was very refreshed going into the Juve games which has entitled him to be playing very well.

Champions League ain't for another 2 weeks and I think now its time for Pelle to step down to the bench against Spurs and bring in Hyypia to partner Carra.

I`m truly amazed by the way he has raised his game in the two legs vs Juve. I guess these matches suits big Sami well, as Liverpool has played with a low defencive line. Due to this he hasn`t been challenged on his lack of pace. He deserves loads of credit for these performances, and also for the way he bounces back after being benched in the previous PL-matches.

Totally agree all the lads were superb but same was different gravy last night.
Chopper:Look, you're not still angry at me about the leg, are you?
Neville Bartos : Nah, forget about it.
Chopper : Because I don't know if you remember, Neville, but I had that bloody shotgun pointed at your head. I reconsidered and dropped it down to your kneecap. Remember?

Do you think it is because european games are generally slower paced than Premiere games? Maybe Rafa uses him for Europe because of his experience and knows that his lack of pace will not be such a problem. Is Pellegrino a pacier player?

All those that have been writing him off should think again , sure he's not the quickest but he's a long way from finished . C'mon Sammi sort those twa'ts Droghba and Lampard out .   :D

hyppia is too good in the air and too assured in possession to be written off despite his lack of pace, rafa i seen on a website was quoted as saying he would want the chelsea games to be played at an european pace but i cant see it its gonna be fast paced and furious id imagine very much like 1st half against juve, i really cant wait for that game, chelsea to beat us all 5 times? not a chance in hell, chelsea to score another deflected goal? not a chance cos we got super dudek!!

Having Pelle and Hyypia as a defensive partnership is
disastrous just look what happened against Southhampton .
Needs to be someone with pace in beside them thats what
Carras for . :D

As I said before, Sami is still amongst the best in the air. His positioning is also superb. It would be a mistake to let him go. With the way he plays, he still have couple years left in him for sure. I think its really hard to find a fine soldier like him out there.

Class player. Id almost put him up there as one of the best defenders i have seen in my time supporting the club. Never really doubted that he would get back to form after a few dodgy periods. The only thing that has ever let him down is his passing abillity. He'd be in the same league as Hansen then.

Now he has 2 goals in his last 3 games, not bad for a burnt out old man :D

His volley against spurs is too good to be true for a defender..
