Those bastadz outside just won't leave us alone

Sources at the London club indicated yesterday that José Mourinho is convinced he will succeed in his pursuit of Gerrard, who agreed to join Chelsea last summer but backed out of the deal at the last minute in order to spend one more season at Liverpool. Officially there has been no contact between Chelsea and Gerrard since, but a source at Stamford Bridge said yesterday that “the player has agreed and will definitely join in the summer — unless he changes his mind again”.

The claims would appear to endorse the claims made by Ashley Cole, the Arsenal defender, when summoned by Premier League solicitors to explain his meeting with Mourinho and Peter Kenyon, the Chelsea chief executive. Cole said that Mourinho had boasted of having already secured the signing of Gerrard and, while that story met with denials from all concerned, it would seem fair to say that the Liverpool captain has not discouraged the confidence held by all at Chelsea.

How do they know that he made up his mind to go to Chelsea if there was no contact made between them?

Personally I don't think he will go to Chelsea because if he were to go then the the central midfield of Chelsea would suffer, and Mourinho is way too smart so he wouldn't bench Makalele just so he could play Gerrard, and he wouldn't bench Lampard neither. Gerrard and Lampard don't work very well for England so I don't see why it would work for Chelsea.

the daily mirror has on its back page a story about a unnamed premier league manager who apparently dropped a gaff and said to reporters that the fact gerrard is going to chelsea is the worst kept secret in football.
apparently liverpool dont want the story to come out before the end of the season in case it derails our push for champions league football, and chelsea are fuming because they are already not at the top of uefa`s christmas card list.
i know you can look too much into things but as i was reading this i was watching sky and luis garcia said gerrard was a great player for liverpool or whatever club he plays at.
hmmmm.....
the way we have progressed in europe and the obvious signs that benitez will get it right says to me if gerrard does go it must be for the money. next year we`ll have as much chance as anyone of success if gerrard stays.
if gerrard stays and has always had no intention of leaving i think the press should be investigated because this has gone past a joke, its almost like they`re on chelsea`s payroll.
there`s a difference between a story that wont go away and a press campaign.

'Unnamed' manager confirms Gerrard sale
By D Ferguson
9 April 2005

An unnamed Premiership manager is claiming that Steven Gerrard will move to Chelsea in the summer for £30m.

Reports suggest that the manager let the cat out of the bag regarding the transfer saying that Gerrard has already agreed to join the West London club.

Liverpool are adamant that the player is staying so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens at the end of the season.

I think that Gerrard will stay at Liverpool. He seems happy, the club's still in the Champions League and his manager wants him to stay and says that he won't sell his captain.

Is anyone else sick of being led a merry dance by Stephen Gerrard:angry:  When i remember that whining interview he gave some time ago "I love Liverpool, supported them as a lad, but I wanna win things, I wanna win things!!" A forerunner to his inevitable departure. Then f**k right off and leave! Go!! Either that or sign an extension to your contract! That would defo finish all speculation, wouldn't it?? So, either commit contractually, or be a man and admit your leaving for money! NOT to win things!! Join the other mercenaries at that money laundering operation in London. Take your £100,000 a week and kiss the chelsea badge when you win the league cup next year. Anyway, Alonso is better than ya:p

i got sick of it ages ago mate. it all started for me when he came out before the olympiakos game and played down our chances of winning the CL. ok he may have had a point but i didn't think that was the kind of thing the liverpool captain should be saying before such a big match.

to me, if he goes in the summer it is extremely unfair on rafa. what was the point of deciding to say and then only giving the new manager one season to get us challenging? it was never going to happen overnight, especially with the ridiculous injuries we've had.

If he leaves, he'll end up regeretting it like MO. His partnership with Xabi was immense b4 Xabi got injred and if Moro and Djibril can form a good partnership next season then why wouldn't Stevie want to stay and be a part of the Rafa Revolution! Although he would be a massive loss, we will see success with or without Gerrard.

Next season Chelsea will probarly line up like this:

Ferriara Gallas Terry Zambrota/Del Horno(or other left back)

   Gerrard Makalele Lampard

Joquain                    Robben

              Drogba/or Adriano(if they by him)

When a player like Gerrard is availble there is always a space in your team for him.

Also Gerrard has been very complimentary about Barcelona, he said that the Nou Camp is the best stadium he has played in, and that the best hotel he has stayed in was in Barcelona, and that Barcelona are his favourite team after Liverpool. So that could be a real possibilty if the were to make a serious move.

I think we are very much agree for the fact that if SG decided to go then he will go. No one is bigger than the club. Hopefully, he will not experience the same fate of Owen. Warming up the bench.

Where did you hear that stuff about Gerrard ??
Havent seen anything about him an Barca myself.
We will just have to wait an see if he goes or not, but the club need to make sure they get £30 million for him if he does, then Rafa can bring in 2 or 3 world class players and strengthen the team.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha Get out there and kick some mercenary asses Stevie lad:laugh:  Oh, and please kiss the crest on your chest when we advance to Istanbul:p
