Diao 2 real - Yes real!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby gerrard_steven » Sat Apr 02, 2005 1:17 pm

Reds midfielder Salif Diao, currently on loan at Birmingham, has been linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid according to reports in the press today.

Madrid coach Wanderley Luxemburgo and his scouting crew have been watching the Senegalese midfielder for several months now, and he has made no secret of his desires to sign him

Said the Brazilian coach: "I think that Salif is a wonderful player, and any team would be lucky to have him. He is strong in the tackle and has a excellent passing range. Our pocketbook and our arms are wide open to him"

When asked why he doesn't want to sign Steven Gerrard instead, he replied: "While I think that Steven is a great player, we just don't have room for another Englishman in our squad."

Should the right offer arrive, Benitez should have no qualms letting him go

am i missing anything here? lol is this the sme diao we signed and loaned to brum? LOL  ???

Although this story is a load of rubbish, I still think that Diao can make a decent player in the Premership.

He is strong, and loves a tackle, and once he gets going he does have a good passing range, also he has great stamina.

His major problem is that he tries too hard to impress, when all he needs to do is keep it simple.

But I think he can play in a big league, maybe not at a big club but in the top half of the league.

I read in the local papers that a Bayern Munich official website played an Aprilfool joke that they had signed David Beckham for the same Euro 25 million which cost Real Madrid 2 years back as Beckham wanted the move because "his kids' privacy has been repeatedly invaded by praparazzi" and that Beckham did not want to spend more of his time in Real Madrid without winning medals. So Bayern is a good choice as they are likely to win at least one trophy a season.

Later, it was revealed as an Aprilfool joke.
