Bolton's players are energetic, especially their midfielders who close doen, chase and harry ours for the whole 90 minutes. This has been the sort of stye which has caoused us so much problems all season.

Also, we are short on strikers. I am really concerned but I hope most of your optimism will prove my concern wrong.

It's a bit of a variation on a theme, but with a twist...

                         Dudek

Finnan Hyppia Pellegrino Warnock(if fit)/Traore

             Nunez Gerrard CARRAGHER Riise

                         Garcia
               Morientes(if fit)/Le Tallec

Carragher would be very useful in midfield, and against a tough team like Bolton Biscan would be useless.  Carragher's played there before and always done a good job.  If midfield is where the game is won and lost we can't afford Igor messing things up.

RAFA'S WARNING TO REDS
Paul Eaton 01 April 2005
Rafael Benitez has told his Liverpool players he won't tolerate a post-international hangover when the Reds take on Bolton tomorrow.
The Liverpool manager has had less than 48 hours to work with his squad after a ten day break for international fixtures, but he's not prepared to use that as an excuse ahead of a vital clash with Sam Allardyce's high flying Wanderers.

Benitez remembers the poor performance his side produced at Birmingham following the last international break, and he wants no repeat of that display this weekend.

"It is always a problem when players come back from international duty because you don't have a lot of time to prepare," said Benitez.

"We will be talking a lot about the lessons from our last international break. We will need to approach the game in the same way as the derby.

"I know that's difficult because a derby is different to other matches, but we must try because this is just as important.

"I've been talking to the players and telling them to forget the Juventus match next week and focus only on beating Bolton."

Liverpool expect to have Fernando Morientes, Luis Garcia and Stephen Warnock fit for the game. Milan Baros and Dietmar Hamann will definitely miss out.

-------------------------------------------------------
According to this latest news, my lineup (previous one was a joke! :p ) would be:
-------------Dudek------------
Finnan-Pellegrino-Carragher-Warnock
---Nunez-Biscan-Gerrard-Riise------
----------Garcia-------------------
----------------Morientes----------
Subs:
Carson
Hyypia
Traore
Le Tallec
Smicer

After a few thoughts, the cara idea seems quite useful against a team like bolton. He can play a similar role to Didi as a holding defencive midfielder. As Bolton like to close down quick, we have Cara to support the back, or a free player for our midfielders to back off to and restart an attack.

But in saying that I doubt it'll happen...

6 on the bench with Mannix in it? he does not even have a squad number.

Le Tallec in midfield? it could be very costly and risky indeed.

What about garcia? Not even on the bench...

Hmmm ? a lot of people seem to have suddenly got it in for Sammi .
OK he lacks a yard of pace but I wouldn't so easily discard Sammi's experience at the heart of our defence for Pellegrino .

Not suggesting we shouldn't be looking for a replacement ,but i don't think Pellegrino has done enough to relegate Sammi to the subs bench.
