Don't forget Manure went about 24 years without winning the league. And SAF was a basketcase for about the first 5 years. Houllier has achieved more than Ferguson did in his first 4/5 years.
The only thing that got Manure up there was the game became more about money than being a football club of character. Maybe Houllier will still turn it around given the same opportunity. Evidence says not, but then Manure looked pathetic for 24 years and are showing signs of self destructing.
