garcia's season has basically been in three parts. in his first month or so he was very good. he then had a couple of months whereby he struggled to find his form and this was compounded when he limped off at monaco with a hamstring strain. however in recent weeks he is looking good and seems to be playing with a smoile on his face.

his ability to get into goalscoring positions is superb. in the past, i criticised him for being rash infront of goal. i lost count of the number of times he blasted the ball over from close range. however 9 goals now looks like a decent return.

When I think about Valencia[under Benitez] did not exactly have  a striker who scored the amount of goals forwards such as Henry score however their midfield was immense, all of their midfielders scored many goals for them and thats one of the things that made them lethal.

Basically the same thing is being done with us, Riise,Gerrard and Garcia together have scored 28 goals which is more than all of our forwards combined and he encourages the midfielders to get on the score-sheet.

I'm quiet sure Mista scored a fair few, wasn't he top scorer?

Ahhh, it takes me back to when Gerry Byrne played in the 1965 Cup final with a broken collar bone.... well maybe not, I was too young.  Does make you think about Kewell "limping" off during this years League cup final!!

I'm sure he was but they didn't really depend much on Mista, not when you have the likes of Aimar in your midfield, and that's just one of their midfielders who banged in the goals for them.

I think that's what our problem is.  We need a striker who can give us +20 a season consistantly.  Then other forwards/midfielders who can give up 8-15 a season.  I think Arsenal emphase this:
Henry - 22
Pires - 10
Ljungberg - 9
Reyes - 7

We just don't score enough - 43 to Arsenal's 68.

Next season, potentially we'll have one of the best midfield partnerships with Gerrard and Alonso - so there should be no excuses!!!! lol

just before he commited that horror tackle on stubbs, Baros new that all the other strikers at the club were injured as morientes had gone off by then. So what does he go and do? decides to get revenge on stubbs because he was fouled by another player one minute earlier. Knowing he had to get a red card by making such a stupid tackle, and knowing liverpool would be without strikers for the next couple of games, undoing all the work his teamates achieved by closing the gap on the blues, because his team will probably drop points in the following couple of games with no bloody forwards left fit enough to play. He's not only stupid and selfish, but from what we saw on sunday - a ****** striker that is only good at running around like a headless chicken, ignoring his teamates and making sure move after move breaks down because he continually gives the ball away or misses chances, handing the ball back to the opposition.
No wonder Madrid didn't want him and went for owen instead . The quicker he goes and owen comes back the better. Though probably won't happen as owen is hot property scoring 12 goals in spain and baros will be unwanted or value will plummet as he couldn't score in a brothel!!!!!!!! :(

Last season Aimar spent a lot of time on the bench though...but it is good to see goals coming from not just one or two players. With the likes of Xabi coming back, I can only think it will benefit the forwards.

Move on with life and accept the fact that Michael Owen has left the club and will not return. I rate Michael Owen very high, higher than Baros but where was Owen in the Euro? The fact of the matter is that Baros won the golden boot, beating Owen,Henry and countless other strikers that are better than him and just because of that his price will be very high in the transfer market, and if we are going to sell him that will help us.

They've conceded less goals with the new defender at the back four[don't know his name].
