:) At least we have one player giving his all - Gerrard seems intent on dragging Liverpool into the Chanpions League  on his own even if the rest of them seem to be concentrating on the summer holidays. He is our best player at the moment and Jamie Carragher got it right when he said that being captain has made him even better - at least Houllier has got something right. As for Owen, he looks like a man thinking about the prospect of playing in the Champions League only not with us.

Agree that Houllier's decision to make Gerrard captain was one of his best.....Gerrard is probably the most respected player at Anfield at the moment(rightly so).
Interviewer:       'Would it be fair to describe you as a volatile player?'
David Beckham: 'Well, I can play in the centre on the right and occasionally on the left side.' (Man U)

since the treble season i've not been satisfied with him. He's always flattered to decieve and not given his all. I've always maintained he can do more.

But over the last 20 games or so.... to be honest even from the start of the season he seems to have hit somewhere near the heights he can.

I still expect more though. He's in the final stage of developement now i think and eventually i am hoping Le Tallec can partner him in central midfield and replace Hamann in the pecking order. :)

Gerrard is a real captain. He always think about the club.He often talks with Owen, tell him to not leave.
I even think if Owen leave,we needn't feel sad ,because we have Gerrard.

Stu, that is one thing I have to agree with.

Gerrard had been inconsistent and nowhere near the heights he could reach.

But since he has got the captains arm band he has been great espicaly since the second half of the Newcastle game.

But I still feel he has something more to offer, he is good now but he will become great one day.
