Season over - 4th place is out of our reach

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby The_Rock » Sat Mar 05, 2005 7:11 pm

Its over guys & gals......... We can't get 4th place now. Just look at this season. I don't even think we went 5 games unbeaten the whole season. Lets not kid ourselves. Do you really think we can beat arsenal, blue sh1ts, tottenham, boro by playing like this.........

1)Rafa - At the beginning of the season, i was sure, rafa is the best manager we can get. Now, i am still behind him, but i getting more & more doubts if he can adapt in this league. He has made quite a few "houllier" howlers this season. His insistance on playing 4-5-1 is baffling seeing that we don't have players capable of buliding from the back... we don't have players who can kepp possestion....

Why doesn't he start with nunez on the right and play 4-4-2 ? We have won so many league games playing like that.

Why take off baros, when we are a goal down ? Baros had a sh1t game, but he was up on his own. Baros looks like he is surely off this summer. A pity because he has been our best striker this season. It will cost a lot to get another striker (at least as good as baros).

Baros has taken a lot of sh1t during houlliers time (who wouldn't if they had to play 2nd bananas to heskey). Now after proving himself at euro 2004, he is still not guarenteed 1st team football....I can understand why he was pi$$ed on missing out on the league cup.

And oh yes...garcia will get picked for everygame, even though he gives away the balls numerous times. ???

And you guys really think morientas & cisse can do the job by themselves next season ?

We have blamed a lot of players this season. Gerrard has taken a lot of sh1t. Baros...recently seem to be (all_of_a_sudden) not good enuff for liverpool (in some members view), but rafa seems to be above blame .... i don't get it.

We should have gotten a few players on loan during the jan transfer. I said it then. I am saying it again.

2)Sh1t players. We have a lot of sh1t players. i can't believe how many matches this season we have lost as a result of a lot of our players not giving a sh1t during the match. Birmingham did the double against us....for **** sake. Baros & Carra seem to be the only players who give all for the team every match.

3)naive ceo - u can bet baros will leave for less than 5 million this summer.........why ? becos the higher-ups are too dumb to make players sign contract on time.  Gerrard will prob leave for 20 million. Hamann might leave for a free too.... Don't be suprised if kewell leaves for a million too. Its no wonder this club is in a debt....and it is not because of missing out on champions league previously.

4)Too many average spanish players - wait.....i am not anti-spanish or something like that..... But there is a reason why spain has not won any major tournments in recent history.  And the spanish players, rafa is buying are not even in the spanish national team....apart from alonso. Even morientas is not playing for spain at the moment (though i think he will back ..in the near future). And with more rumours of rafa buying even more spainsh players...who i have not heard off..... i dread to think of next season.

Don't get me wrong. I luv the team. Will support it till i die.

But at the moment, the players ......& to a certain extent, the manager have let me down, too many times. Just saw crystal palace against manure. If ppl say we have loads of players missing..... just compare our team today to theirs.... We easily outclass crystal palace at every dept. And we can't match their commitment.

Saying all that, hope we can win all our remaining games to get 4th spot. We can do it, if the players give 100% evey game

not only should the majority of this pi$$ poor squad go at the end of the season, moores and parry should f*ck off as well, the way its goin we'll be lucky if benitez stay's.we really need to have some massive investment so benitez can build his own team.he shouldn't have to work with this crowd of houllier's second rate sh*t signings.and if we can't get the investment we should ditch the  plans for the new stadium and spend the money on players who really want to play for liverpool.:(

Really all the players should take a good look at themselves at first, all of them were below average today!. During the whole week most of them were mouthing their big mouths off as if they have already guaranteed the fourth spot, without giving any sweat for it, in the actual fact they should have shut their big mouths off, and gave the decent performance with 100% hard work instead, the manager ought to order them to keep their mouth shut and let their football do the talking!, I am sorry to say the present players of LFC is below average, that’s including Steven Gerrad, they might think they are top players, but the facts on the pitch says otherwise.

The Club needs big change in ownership of the club, big injection of funds is urgently needed to bring the LFC where it’s belong, the club has slipped further down over the last three years, and it will continues towards that direction, if the owner do nothing urgently!!! Just look at what happened to Leeds, they were in same position four years ago, it’s down to the LFC’s fans to do something, they ought to put more pressure on the club’s owners to save the it from slipping down hill further away. The fans should raise their concern and voices and let the owners hear about it really.

Another dismal display by an ordinary team. The 4th fizzled and died today. We wont get it and dont deserve it. We have soooo much catching up to do. Christ only knows where we go from here. We need a miracle.

Come on fellas(and girls),lets not get to fed up.Even if the blueshite win tomorrow we could still be only 5 points behind them if we win our next 2 games and with 8 games to play im sure we can pull that back, and if we get through to the quarter finals of the champions league things will look a lot brighter which im sure we can.

Quarter finalists in the champions league(possibly further),carling cup runners up,4th or 5th in the prem, its not bad considering the massive amount of injuries rafas had to put with,i am 100% certain next season will be a huge improvement, so just think what we can achieve then.:) :)

if Everton lose to Blacburn we still have a game in hand, and them to play at home. Not over yet, but we are skating on extremely thin ice and relying on other teams to do us favours.

I'd like to know the source before passing too much comment.

Players can't "refuse" to play for their clubs without being subject to disciplinary measures.
