Liverpool eyeing another spaniard?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Whos this fella anyone seen him play?
And would he be any good for us?

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has another Spanish target in his sights in Malaga midfielder Juan Rodriguez.
The 23-year-old has been one of the revelations of the season in La Liga with some sparkling display for Malaga.
Rodriguez scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night, and a Liverpool scout was in attendance to cast his eye over the young midfielder.
Benitez has not been afraid to head back to La Liga to find new recruits, and Rodriguez seems another who is on his list.
Rodriguez and Benitez both have Manuel Garcia Quilon as their agent, adding further fuel to the fire that Anfield could beckon.
Rodriguez has been a big star for Malaga boss Antonio Tapia, scoring five goals this season, and the club would not want to lose him in the summer.
For now Rodriguez says he knows nothing about Liverpool's interest and is concentrating on playing for Malaga.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Good player, he is a tough tackler and I have seen him plenty in La Liga on Sky Sport.

Is he better than Hamann though?

But then again Hamann is over 30 now, and is past his best.  His performances this season have not been his best.

Don't be so simple minded Chiggz. Josemi looked a fairly well defender early in the season, I don't know what has happened to him since.

Jos will improve, he has never had a chance to bed into the english game because of injury.
I think he has shown enough to be given a go next year.

does anyone else feel slightly uneasy about overloading the sided with spanish players?

i'm all for bringing in quality but it feels like we're now losing money on clearing out all the french (and french speaking) players who are not wanted after houllier's regime.

are we going to have another massive season or two of transition when the next german coach comes in and clears out all the spanish players?

Josemi is good player, he just need to work on his positioning and to keep his head, he will settle in and regain his form, it's just a confidence thing ;)

i think what could rafa's weakness is that he can only sign spaniards. just like houllier main source of talent was france (le tallec, cheyrou, pongy)
