Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Why do most of the fans on here seem to always be having a go at Gerrard?  He's been a star for us for a long time and without him god knows where we would've been finishing in the league.

If he has already decided to go, then let him go.  If he is yet to decide, having a go at him all the time is hardly likely to persuade him to stay is it?

same with Owen, and McMoneyman before him. All local lads who shows no loyalty for the club before packing their bags. I can understand if they wanted to move on but to be disrecpectful to the club and fans is a slap in the face for us supporters.

Gerrard his dug his own grave with his comments and the way he has been half heart in every game against Chelsea this season!so personally I don't think we should get off his back as we deserve to voice an opinion about our 'captain'!

whilst i agree with some of what you say, the stats show we are more successful without SG in the side.

however, i think many opinions about SG, posted by LFC fans here, are a little out of proportion, and perhaps we should at least seek the real reason for any comments made by SG, and what his motivation is.

jumping to conclusions, is not what us LFC fans are about, or have i got it wrong??

I have said for a while that it might be the best thing for Gerrard to leave not just because he was w3nk yesterday and scored for his 'future club'.

arnt we all.........

as much as i love SG, i see no reason to give SG a break simply becos his performances as a player, a captain, an LFC ambassador have not deserved it!
He is a shadow of his former-self, i hate to see him like this! Its gettin to the point where, if a player isnt good enough on the pitch (ability and/or influence) then he shouldnt play. last tuesdays game proved this!

As in a previous post, this situation is going to get nastier but not till the end of the season.  I wouldnt be surprised if words have beem exchanged and Rafa defends LFC's position against a captain who most people think is going to leave and now plays like he's not interested.

The situation is turning round to we will be better off without him and IMO a lot of that is a message to players we want to join the club.  i.e. Ok our best player and captain left due to ambition but in all honesty he's been a liabilty this season and were better off without him and with you we will be even better.

I dont agree with taking the captaincy off him as this will just inflame the situation nor dropping him unless it is purely for footballing reasons.  I think the message that we are LFC and we WILL be succesful with or without you is slowly coming out and bizzarely I can see him staying when he sees Rafas plans and future signings, like when a girl becomes interested when you stop chasing and move on  :D

Its becoming a we dont need you anymore situation and if you go then tara.  SG will probably start thinking why dont they need me who are they signing etc and probably bleeding stay.

Gerrard will be back how is it that fowler was naff for two years and he is still idolised? Gerrard gives his all and we want him gone? He has won more than robbie did, yet all everyone on here does is slag the lad off.
I hate to say it but when scholes was Cr4p for the mancs they got behind him and now they reap the rewards, what do us scousers do, get on his back and put even more pressure on the lad.

Another thing, what is it with LFC fans from outside of Liverpool not nowing what it really means to be a fan? I travel the country to see them even when working away and this ****** that seems to get levelled at us is ******1ng annoying. ONE CLUB ONE SET OF FANS WE NEVER WALK ALONE? Im not so sure.

It seems as though alot of people cant accept criticism of any player (not just gerrard) when they are performing poorly.

It as if people are scared to voice their opinions in case gerrard reads them, gets upset and then leaves the club! For christ sake grow some balls!!!

Patting a player on the back and saying 'dont worry, it will get better' doesnt f*cking help!!!  As a top class player surely you must be able to take criticism as well as praise when needed!

I just feel dissapointed this morning and to make things worse Gerrard comes out with the comment that Chelsea deserved to win, well Stevie 'I'm the f**kin man' Gerrard if thats the case why were we 10 mins away from lifting the cup until you scored a f**kin own goal, he just p1sses me off how big headed he is!  :(

Steven Gerrard: "It's going to be a tough ask for us to win anything this year now, but we'll give it our best shot in the Champions League. Our hopes are still alive. If we get through and Chelsea get through I'd like us to meet them again because I'd fancy our chances."

to score another brilliant goal?
