Read the official website this morning which said that Rafa told Gerrard that he was unhappy with the captain suggesting we couldn't win the champions league prior to the Leverkusen game.

As much as I like Gerrard as a player, I feel his comments were unacceptable for a team captain

Could you have pictured Houllier telling him off for this?? Good on ya Rafa

I have alot of respect for Benitez - Rafa is slowly begining to show us what he there to do.....
No disrespect to Stevie but Gerrard needs to grow some RAFA sized balls!!!

I blamed the media for playing this up and think Gerrard realised his mistake, although this is not the first time he has been negative about the team this season.

Hoped he will put in double the effort this Sunday and kick the blues while they are down..."If anyone wants to know how much lifting a cup for Liverpool as captain means to me, they should just watch my face if I do that on Sunday". Sounds positive enough huh?

I really hope we can win. 1, it will knock that smug arrogant grin of Moonenio. 2, it will give the London gutter press a kick in the teeth. And 3, it will help bring our squad closer together, and give them confidence going into the final stages of the Premiership.

I think we can do it. They were lucky last time, maybe we can be lucky this time.

Yeah I'm sure Gerrard does realise his mistake and the media do tend to blow these things out of proportion.

I'm sure Gerrard will do the business on Sunday.

I made the post more to highlight that I am happy with Rafa's attitude in not taking any ******, its been a while since we had a manager like that.

I'm glad Rafa has taken this attitude, Gerrard has a habbit of opening his mouth just before CL games, remember him saying that sh1t about not knowin if he will leave in the summer, etc just before the Olympiakos game, he need to keep his mouth shut, especially being the club captain

In his defense he didnt say this just before the chapions league game thats when Radio 5 decided to release it.Still i'm glad rafa had a word hopefully it will knock stevie down a peg or two and he will realise he is not the be all and end all in Liverpool.

NO! Quiet happy if Stevie said that, but not about your own team!?! How do the other players take it?
