Man off the match - Last night

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Riise was outstanding but I think Finnan is showing the potential to become a great full back.  He is playing with alot of confidence this year and when I saw Josemi chatting to Morientes in the stands I felt he may be thinking that his days at anfield are numbered.

Murphy0151.........Finnan?

What u mean when he played that suicidal back header into a Leverkusen's strikers path, would have been a 1-1 then if that had gone in so could have cost us dearly.

Riise for me, looked busy taking people on and that ball to Baros was exquisite.

Did you see the shots of SG?  He looked thoughly uninterested in the match, and seriously p1ssed of.  Hopefully he was p1ssed off for not being on playing, and not because they were doing so well without him.

So you have decided now to love Finnan no matter what? You can not possibly mean he was our no 1 last night? He made a few bad mistakes defensively and did not contribute a lot in the attacking play. So that is a mom in your book?

I think you should stop fooling around. I guess this post was made just to make fun of other posters. For me your statement could only be one thing, IRONY.

The two best players last night was Hamann and Riise. Both scored goals and did f@cking great. Hamann ruled midfield, and I think it was his best game in years.

Riise was definitely MOTM, going forward he constantly caused Leverkusen problems, didn't give their full-back a second on the ball, covered Traore when he went forward, scored a great goal and created what should have been another goal for Baros. Traore had a very good game by his standards, Carra played very well, Finnan recovered from a shaky start to have an excellent second half, Biscan started excellently but faded in the second half, Kewell started well but his lack of fitness showed in the second half. Hamann played really well and ran Riise close for MOTM in my opinion.

Dudek   :(

How the fe[k are we going to get Baros to look up more when he's on the ball.  I was thinking he should train with one of those neck braces they use on car accident victims!!!

as much as we all love igor again for having a great game his performance wasn't quite up to MOM standards. its got to be riise by a mile. he scored, he created, he nutmegged, he flicked the ball backwards over his shoulder on the run :O  !!

if only his hair didn't clash so badly with the shirt though...

dont forget the ref, he was absolutly abysmal. Sometimes Champions league football really does look like a non contact sport.

My m.o.m would be Riise. Rafa has done an amazing job with the lad considering both last nights match and his overall performance this season.

Riise was my man of the match.  Looked like a different player - and not just because of his Beatle haircut. :D  :D
