they play as a team and all fight for one another, and they have a crowd who get right behind them and let them know when they are not happy

Everton are in no better form than we are so we should be able to catch up to them before this all set and done.

If we play like we did today 4th is a world away.

I agree with that. He's playing like someone that doesn't care, like he's given up on the team - thats not acceptable from anyone, but when its the captain it drags the whole team down.

As it happens he'll not be playing in our next match anyway. We would have been better today playing without him today, as a practice run, but its easy to say that in hindsight given the result.

Looking at the 'big 5' that are coming up I wish I could be more confident about where we'll be in a months time.

Liverpool v Bayer Leverkusen
Liverpool v Chelsea
Newcastle v Liverpool
Bayer Leverkusen v Liverpool
Liverpool v Everton

When do we play Blackburn as the game was rescheduled? I'm not too concerned about Newcastle to be honest

Why are you not too concerned about Newcastle A.B.?

Yeah, but hang on a sec.  I like posting on here and reading the views but this pr!ck spoils it.

This idiot logs onto other forums as dapioneer, posts some cr@p to start a fight and then puts a link to this forum in his signature to make them come on here and start a fight.

If you don't believe me check this out.

If he isn't dapioneer, he fu**ing knows him as they both claim to be stewards at Anfield.  Too co-incidental for me, especially as their posts read the same.  Same stupid, know nothing, bigoted views.

They're one and the same person.  He's on here for a wind up.

Back on topic, I'm sick of every time we have the chance to gain some ground on our rivals, we seem to bottle it.  We've been doing it since Souness was in charge.  The fact that Everton had played earlier in the day gave us an even bigger advantage as if we should have needed one, as we knew exactly what we had to do.

I'm not sure we even deserve that fourth spot.  And Gerrard can either move his ar$e into gear, or we should sell him for every penny we can get for him.  The team is far more important than just pacifying Gerrard.

They aren't exactly solid, their back four conceeds goals more easily than ours.

Once upon a time i remember TV commentators favourite phrase when LFC were losing - never write off Liverpool.
There was such a fighting spirit we never felt beaten - i still tremble when i see that comeback in the Euafa cup against St Ettienne with subersub banging in the winner!.
We only seem to have a couple of players left who are like that - Gerrard and Carra.
We need 11 - period.

Well said. I remembered the St. Etienne's game, Mark Walters 15 mins of fame and the comeback win against Olympiakos. These games typified Liverpool's teamwork & fighting spirit but sadly the bunch who wear the red shirts at St. Mary's last month and St. Andrews yesterday is a complete disgrace.

Sorry to correct you A.B they have actually leaked less goals than us after the arrival of Jean Alain Boumsong. Now that, is what we should have purchased instead of Garcia, Josemi. Incidentally Garcia + Josemi transfer fees = Boumsong's transfer fees. Just dun understand why we were snubbed. Rick Parry's mismanagement again? Or Rafa's ignorance of players outside Spain?

Poly lad, you DO NOT buy a player for £8m if he turned down a free transfer move six months earlier. Simply on principal.

Leons right here. No doubt the truth about the Boumsong saga will come out like as not in his book when he retires, but something strange went on before he signed for Rangers. Rather than get involved in the well-trodden path of 'we should sign this bloke or that bloke' however, I'm thinking more about this season and what we can retrive from the embers.
We've got huge games coming up apace and it riles me a bit that we are going into a winnable CL game with our morale once again at a low ebb. It also riles me that at the Millenium Stadium, those same players who couldn't be bothered to get out of bed for Southampton and Birmingham will be tearing around like lunatics trying to win a medal. Good pro's, good players put it in every time. Burnley away? count me in. Southampton away? I'm your man.
They can't continue to pick and choose when to play these lads.
