Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I'm sure most of you are aware of the usual clause in loan deals whereby the player cannot play against the club loaning him out

Well today Liverpool insisted Birmingham MUST play Diao against Liverpool when the two clubs meet tomorrow.

About time Diao put in a performance that helped Liverpool I say.

:D   :D

Diao can't play for two reasons
1. He's on a loan and can not play against the club that sent him on a loan.
2. He's injured

Diao speaks on tomorrow's game

Kewell can inspire Liverpool

There is better news for me on the injury front; my calf strain has been responding well to treatment and today I spent some time on the bike at our training ground and also some light exercises on the leg. If everything goes according to plan, I will be ready for selection in two weeks' time, for our game at Crystal Palace, and I can't wait to play again after missing our last two matches.

Even if I'd been fit, I wouldn't have been able to play this Saturday as our opponents are Liverpool, and I must admit that it will feel quite strange seeing my new team-mates lining up against my old ones. It will be great to see a few old friends again and people keep asking me who I will be supporting. It's a difficult one because I have ties to both clubs, so all I can say is may the best team win!

It will no doubt be a tough game for us; although Liverpool have still struggled at times recently, I feel that they are finally starting to benefit from having a settled side. By all accounts, their performances in their past two games have been very good and they'll have Harry Kewell back soon. When he is playing at his very best, Harry can be the difference to a team, so I expect Liverpool to go from strength to strength this season. Although Everton currently occupy fourth spot in the table, I think Liverpool will take over at some point and ensure a place in the Champions League for next season.

When he is playing at his very best, Harry can be the difference to a team, so I expect Liverpool to go from strength to strength this season.

With this being international week, I was originally selected for Senegal's game with Cameroon in France but the injury obviously forced me out of the squad. I still met up with the boys in Paris this week, and they are all in good spirits, especially my good friend Diouffy, who has been in fantastic form of late.

He has had his critics in this country, but I think he is finally showing the form that he showed at the last World Cup and has been instrumental in Bolton's fine run of late. When he is given a run of games and is played in the right position, he is a frightening talent and has benefited from his loan spell. I aim to follow suit.
