2001 League Cup winner (Liverpool)
2003 League Cup winner (Liverpool)
2001 Charity Shield winner (Liverpool)
2002 World Cup Finalists (ALLEMAGNE)

Any player with records above must not be an ordinary one. Hamann who is best known for his calmness on the ball and range of passing, is definitely not. He gives more balance to every game with his rich experience.

This classy midfielder with Overall apps/goals 21/378 was an influential figure in Liverpool's treble trophy success of 2000-01 as well as their push for the Champions League and Premiership this year.

Rafa has recently suggested he will still be a Liverpool player next season:

"We have been speaking and Didi will be here next season,"
"Rick Parry has been speaking to his agent and it could be done"  "In my opinion he will be here for at least next season"
"I spoke to the player on Friday morning and he was going to see Rick so we should have news on his contract soon".
"He has had a very good first half of the season and with his experience and quality, I expect him to have a good second half too"
"We want him to stay for at least next season and in my opinion, he will."

I think he is worth keeping, what about you?
:)

Didi Hamann has been one of the best central midfield players, i've ever seen and I think he is seriously underated. My one reservation about him staying is his age. At times this season he has looked tired and "not with it", but he also has flashes of pure genius. I would like him to stay on as he will be a valuable backup player, but I would still like a competant replacment lined up in the summer. Didi would be a great role-model for a younger player and his experience would be invaluable if he can pass on some of that knowledge. Yes, keep him on, but I think his role should be slightly reduced. I'd love him to become a coach after that though. He's a legend.

he is worth keeping as a squad player because he is world class but age is catching up with him, and we will need to bring in a new centre mid in the summer

Maybe hes stayin cause stevies going, and Rafa would need to find 2 midfielders instead of one.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Didi will always be an asset to us. The problem is he is not a flashy type of player and goes about his job of protecting the back four quietly. Some talk about his age but he is younger than GaryMac when Gary was playing for us, so that is not the reason. I think some of us here thought we had too many centre midfielder up to before Xabi got injured. Now we are suddently short of players in the middle in our next CL match, and god knows who we will field if we don't have Hamann for that game. Besides Hamann usually have a good game against European opposition as he gets more time on the ball.
Yesterday's game was a good illustration on the value of Hamann. From what I can see, we were overran in the centre of the park until his introduction. So yes, I would have Didi in the squad and have him in to protect a lead.

if gerrard does go which i dont want it might be a good idea to move hamman on and build a team around alonso not 100% who i would bring in but with the money for them we could start again and push for the title next year

i can't believe the CLOWN Biscan is being picked before him.  Hamman is a far superior player in every way over Biscan... WHY?
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

More match practice before the Laverkusen game? I don't think Rafa rates Biscan over Hamann...

Yes Hamman is essential for the team, especially without a pacey centreback, he provides great cover. And barnesrush's notion of being Diarra's mentor is very valid

Yeah, never really thought of him that way.  Now we just need someone to mentor Garcia on how to play, though he appears to be coming around *finger's crossed* :)

He's not as good as he once was, but his football this season has been a big improvement over that of the past two years, and he definitely has something positive to contribute for another season at least. After that, we'll see.

world class, specsavers comes to mind

hes not world class m8 by a long way but hes a solid player who will be worth while keeping for another season but thats about it and as a backup player, we need more quality midfielders, int he summer we need another centre midfielder and hopefully finally sort out the whole defense
