Seven points from thirteen games isn't uncatchable by any means. They will lose another two games and draw a few. We have to able to capitalise on that.
In past years, it appeared every time our rivals dropped points so we could gain ground, we would also alarmingly drop points EVERY SINGLE TIME. It was a big problem with the Evans and Houllier regimes. We now have a manager who is trying above all else to instill a winning mentality in the team, which means that when sooner or later Everton do slip up, we will not let the chance go this time.
I recall one year we were 2nd in the table on the final day of the season (I think 1996-97 season) We were beaten by Sheffield Wednesday and ended up finishing fourth behind the Scum, Newcastle and Arsenal. We should learn our lessons and never let things like that happen again. I don't think Rafa will let it happen again.
We will catch Everton. As simple as that.
