Stanley park - Do we really want to move?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

There's been a lot of talk about Liverpools new stadium recently. Stanley park looks to be inevitable but the question that always leaps into my mind is: Why do we have to move?
I know that Anfield now seems small (well, not really) compared to some of the other major european stadiums but is that really the only reason. What's going to happen to the gates? and the statues? Is this really going to be the end of the Kop? I was just wondering what everyone else thught about the move. Please post your opinions and fill in any details if you know them. I suppose the most important thing is that we don't muck in with the blue noses, but what is going to happen? Or am I just being overly insecure?

I think the new stadium needs to be put on hold till we get a quality winning team going, I love anfield and it wont be the same in another stadium, but if this team and players dont buck there ideas up do you think 60-70 thousand will turn up to watch a p#ss poor middle of the prem team, I think not.
Team sorted first priority.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

The club's finances are currently up the spout. We can not afford to move until we find a new benefactor.

I can't see a larger stadium being filled to watch a rubbish team. We need to get a half decent team first.
