Reading your posts I see that I am not alone in thinking that our team lacks fluidity, when I watch chelsea or arsenal play, I am thinking geez, why arent we doing triangles and short passing like them?
Watching the first two games carefully, I have noticed that on counter attack, or a push forward,
that the team stalls holding the ball up,
then gets stuck on the defence. This disheartens me as I know players like Owens, Diouf, Kewell, Gerrard have the skill for quick one touch passes, hopefully as they gain more experience playing together they will sort this out.
I see a few of you mentioned that Harry is playing right midfield and what the hell is GH thinking, I am sorry to say that Harry thinks (possibly wrongly) the right is his preferred side. Halfway through the first half Harry and Diouf switched sides, it didnt seem to help. They even swapped for a very short time during the second half, then switched back. I was guessing, to myself, that Houlier was succumbing to Harry's request to play on the right, then switching him to the left to see if he performed better, or to point out to Harry that he was better on the left. Personally, I don't think it really matters, they just need to get some quality shortpassing in.
I agree, Emile Hesky isnt performing well enough for a starting poisition in any EPL team. Is it too late for LFC to buy Mark Viduka? Or Trade Emile and another player for Mark with Leeds.
Diouf is a great player, like most african players his style isnt suited to European Football, you'd need to stock the whole team with Africans. That being said, it would be wonderful to see the other players garner some understanding with him.
Owens isnt overated, well us aussies rarely hear of him unlike beckham, I would like to see him one two with Harry. His leads are worldclass, he just needs worldclass throughballs, and no I dont mean length of the pitch Longballs.
Lastly, I'd like to apologize for the way Harry played against Villa, I promise he'll be much better Tottenham on the 27th, I'll be up late watching on my TV, wave to me
