Ha. You are right about the FA cup losing some of its meaning. I blame Sky TV with all the cash they have pumped into the Premiership and also European FA for expanding the Champions League to the point it is almost just as meaningless.

i know that liverpool have benefited from finishing 4th and getting in, but it is hardly a champions league if a team finishs 2nd 3rd or 4th how can they do that, ill tell you why, its to get more games on the tele, thats why it is in a league format and make more money

the game is being ruined this way

Agree. The rot started with Manure jetting off to Brazil. I know the argument about 4th etc but I love the FA Cup

Just an idea, but what about scrapping a CL place for 4th place and offering it to the winner of the FA cup. The big clubs will take it seriously then.

or it might be taken more serious if sky got all the rights (no games on the bbc)and offered silly money like they do in the champions league and we might see an improvement

all this has started cos rafa got it wrong last night, people over react.

its like when the ball crossed the line in the spurs vs scum match and straight away everybody called for video technology, its not feasible to introduce to the footy, cos people will woant to use it to decide throw in and that, what degree do you use it to, do you dispute throw ins or what

Unlike rugby or cricket football is non stop game and IMO players would question everything as the stakes are high and what referee wuld say no after a few games when the cameras prove him wrong and he had the chance to stop the game

your spot on with gut reactions and whilst I love the FA cup I cant think of a serious argument to help its cause as deep down being honest and hypocritical I would prefer 4th spot this season
