Lakes, we've had seriosly bad luck with long term injuries - Chelsea / Arsenal haven't. We've also had to deal with at least 2 years of Houlliers rot, and under funding.

Everyone gave Houllier the benifit of the doubt for 5 years - but it's been less than a year, hardly more than 5 months, and you want to slate the guy? If anyone should be slatted, it's the Directors for under-funding Benitez's restructuring

at least we found out a few things about some of the younger members of the squad. i know one swallow doesn`t make a summer and you can over-react to bad results but for me a lot of those lads havent got enough to be first team regulars of the future.
welsh looks one dimensional and will probably end up as a midfield grafter in the lower league`s, potter has some vision but seems to lack a yard of pace and goes missing for long periods.
i expected more from warnock, whitbread was average as was raven who is still young.
hypia had a decent game as did dudek.
traore i thought was looking the part until his howler of howlers. in all my years of watching us i cant remember anything like that own goal.
biscan was awful, that shot near the end just summed up the night.
the game as a whole reminded me of a sunday league match.
