I was wathcin a segment on 60 minutes advertised as a american soccer star, but you've never heard of him. I was intrigued and watched it only to find out that it was Tim Howard, which is rather ironic as he doesn't even start anymore, but they were talking about the importance of football in england when they said, "Bill Shankley a legend in the sport once said Somethings are a matter of life and death, but football is much more than that," and Sir Alex Ferguson believes this in the it's entirely"

I tried to quote it as accurately as I could remember it just wonder if anyone else watched the segment and drew the same conclusion as mel that Fergie idolized Shanks?

I saw a preview of it but why the hell should I watch a segment of the scum? When they have a segment on Liverpool F.C. then I will watch it.

yeah well in order to sell your story you have to hype the man up. Too bad for him that he only plays when there isn't anything on the line !!!!

thats americans for you, they probably seen footage of howard in the champions league and thought wow, thats awesome or whatever they say. cos champions league sounds boss even though they watch it

typical american media using the phrase the worlds most popular athlete, i wouldnt be bothered but he is rubbish

As for the other part of the comment of course he's a ****** athlete. Alot of top players and professional goalkeepers are. Simple as that.
