Well SG is part of the team and he is not so exempt from blame as Rafa said he has a way's to go before becoming world class.

I love SG but even i am not blinded by BS cos your only as good as you next performance.

just before cisse was injured he looked dangerous when moving out wide right, and also i think baros and morientes would be my first choice strike force so rather than having a 14m player sitting on the bench try him where he looked effective.
he could still come inside and chip in with goals.
ray kennedy did it years ago and it worked great.

Hamann was doing the atting work whereas SG defensive work...why? SG was too soft for his standard and didnt willlingly run at the defenders that much ???

Hey Yckat, Ray Kennedy. :;): Gather round you younger forum members while we tell you about a REAL footballer. One of the most tragic cases of illness ruining one of our heroes later years aswell. Superb player, thanks for the memories Ray.

Steveie G has been great for us this year but I think he and our midfield in general got found out today when they came up against a true midfield master....Roy Keane.  He controlled the game from start to finish, got in the crucial tackles and never gave the ball away.  Keane keeps the game simple and Gerrard must learn to do that.  It hurts me to say it but we didn't have the answers to Keane and Scholes...and don't forget Utd were without Ferdinand and Van Nistlerooy.  We missed a great opportunity to put is in contention for 4th place and kill their title aspirations.

Garcia continues to frustrate.  The guy just cannot keep possession.

A top goalkeeper is a priority and I reckon a cheeky bid for Cudicini must be considered.

Cheeky or otherwise you've got more chance of signing Jesus Christ than you have Cuddocini at this stage of the season. Not a good idea either, dodgy hands (jesus that is).

I doubt that Mourinho would sell his second best keeper, if Cech gets injured who'se going to replace him? Mourinho isn't that foolish.

Our players did not use their brains at all, I don't know what they were thinking but surely it had nothing to do with football. Poor passes, poor link up play, poor ball control.

Gerrard said that we needed to be up for this game and play effeciently but our captain didn't do what he said we needed to do as a team and neither did the rest of our players [excluding Morientes,Carra,Baros].

i wouldnt say keane was immense, it was just that he and the rest of the united midfield turned the game into a non event.
probably because they had the extra man in there.
the one united player i thought was immense was the argie hienze or whatever his name is.
if he would have mistimed the tackle on morientes he would have been off and we would have had a pen.
morientes showed signs of bieng a good link man, though it couldnt have been easy for him because gerrard and hamaan kept on blasting their ****** passes to him.

What disappointed me most about Gerrard today was that he appeared to funk a 50/50 ball with Keane late in the game.  Keane doesn't have Gerrards energy but he totally psyched Gerrard out of the game.  Keane took on Gerrard the way Gerrard normally would to his marker.

It's obvious Dudek messed up but I thought Hyypia gave Rooney far to much room to strike.  Rooney has scored many goals from that position and should not have been given room to run and shoot.

Also, if Cudicini cannot be got, what about Shay Given.  He was making noises recently that he is not happy at Newcastle.  He has played behind a poor defence for years but still keeps Newcastle in games.

All goalkeepers [excluding Cech it seems] will make mistakes that will end up costing the club. But and this is a big but, we should had played better and gotten something out of this game.

Dudek is not the execuse for the whole team playing like a bunch of amateurs.
