He has to be registered by end of business today. I presume that means 5pm. I don't know what they're playing at. Maybe Benitez thinks he can beat Man U with Pongolle and Mellor.

Ive just seen that too

Morientes nears Liverpool switch

Radomir Antic on Morientes
Fernando Morientes is close to completing his £6.3m move to Liverpool after arriving at Anfield on Thursday.
"Everything is correct. He has passed his medical," said Morientes' agent Gines Carvajal.

"The player will be presented on Friday at around 1300 GMT and he will sign a three and a half year contract."

GOOD NEWS!!

Does this mean that he has been registered in time for the ManU match?  I read somewhere he had to be registered by 12pm on Friday - whats the 1pm time mean?

Yes, but I'm a bit confused...

"Everything is correct. He has passed his medical," said Morientes' agent Gines Carvajal.

"The player will be presented on Friday at around 1300 GMT and he will sign a three-and-a-half year contract."

Does this mean that all the paperwork will have been completed before the 12pm Friday deadline?  And is the 1pm only a press conference to confirm this?

Huck wrote:Hey guys! I´ve reading this forum for the first time just to see how u think about ur new star signing. I´m from Spain and I support Real Madrid...and I´m from Toledo, the town where el Moro comes from(though hes not really born here). I wanna congratulate u all for ur election...rely Rafa cos (though hes been the boss for our main enemy Valencia last years)Im sure hes gonna build up a strong team, hes definitely a quite better coach than Mourinho is (****** him, grrrr). And...Ive been reading some fears abour Moro´s physical state...dont care about that...he´s fine, hes never had a serious injury...the only trouble could be to make him reach the competition rythm (Reyes, being a fast player, told that he was suffering at the beginning of his career in Uk due to the pace of game there) but Im sure he gonna score loads for u. Keep in mind that Moro is one of the most admired player all over Spain, not just for Real supporters as me, and is gonna be our second team from now on lol. Enjoy him!!

you must be impressed by what you've seen of jonathan woodgate so far then? :D

By the time Woodgate recovers, he will be 35. I will reserve judgement till then...
