Huckerby played for Leeds not too long ago but never managed to cut the mustard at a high profile team in the Premiership. Admirers argue, however, that he has grown and matured since and that he could be a useful addition to the Liverpool squad.

Liverpool have alledgedly already spoken to the player last night to see how he feels about a move. That would mean that his club, Norwich, have already been contacted as well or the Reds could face FA charges, if this rumour proves to be true.

Huckerby could add some pace and width to the Reds midfield but he could also play around a more static forward like Neil Mellor. It seems that Benitez wants to add some versatility to his squad to have different options and game plans on matchday. Something Gerard Houllier was accused of lacking throughout his five year stint at Anfield.

all i want to say is that.. he is a great player , he can dribble and shoot, the match against us.. he did well enough to convince mi.. he is gd enough for liverpool.. and he will come relatively cheap... but the main thing is whether rafa wants him... i just wonder , how old is he?

He is an excellent first division player but just not good enough for the premiership. If we where going after anyone at Noorwich it should be their keeper

Unbelievable.

The standard of this forum has gone from superb, to average to dog poo to beyond a joke. How are topics like this allowed please?

Its getting bloody rediculous now.

We'll probably get another fruitcake posting the same topic in 5 minutes aswell.

2 things that need to improve.

1. The standard of posts. The amount of garbage like this is off putting. People simply aren't engaging their brain before they post.

2. The amount of topics on one issue. This is also getting beyong a joke, i came onto the Forum the other day and on the first page alone there was about 6 or 7 threads saying how we'd signed Pellegrino!! WE ONLY NEED ONE! Its a joke.

Its ruining the forum though.

It used to be good, with people on who actually half knew football. Now its full of people who don't know there ****** from there elbow and think first division players will win us the champions league.

One idiot the other day posted in a thread, then when his post got little or no response, he cut and pasted it to start a whole new thread !!

I thought Huckerby was a W*nk*r when he played against us the other week
As soon as Finnan started to get the measure of him - he did his headless chicken act & went round kicking everyone in a red shirt for about 5 minutes.
Not for me.
He had the potential many years ago - but never quite went to that next level.
Plus he's been at as many clubs as Robbie Keane
