That is not the case at all. the case yesterday is that they were outplayed for most of the game, and the team that outplayed them got nothing. and the Chelsea didnt just escape with a draw but three points, due to the fact that 1) they were still 0-0 at half time (which we all know they shouldnt have been, cos we should have had a pen)
2) our playmaker went off injured in the first half, and
3) they scored a sh*tey deflected goal in the last few minutes. thats not "the sign of Champions." thats just a sign of pure luck.
if we would have been awarded that penalty, the game would have been totally different. no-one would be saying "Chelsea hung in like true Champions." it all hinges on that decision and other things, not on the way they performed.
i have a feeling a few people on this board are now gonna start saying "yes but thats the mark of a great team, the ability to play badly and still win." again, THATS TOTAL B*LLOCKS. loads of teams play bad and win sometimes, and the amount that do fairly much evens itself out across the board. its a sh*tty theory and i hate it. the assessment of yesterdays game should read something like
"Chelsea took three points from under the noses of a Liverpool side who dominated the first half, had their playmaker cruelly injured before the half was out, and had two penalty claims harshly ruled out. the second half was more of an even affair as a result of Liverpool's misfortune in the first. both defences remained strong, and Liverpool were then dealt the cruel blow of a badly deflected shot entering their net, unworthy of being called a 'chance.' This will surely aid Chelsea's Premiership campaign, as even when they look as though they have met their match on the day, a combination of factors out of the two teams control allows them to snatch the three points, after a first half display from Liverpool which surely warranted them the phrase 'deserved winners.'"
lets get this straight. Mike Reilly doesnt play for Chelsea. therefore they should not be getting credit for his decisions helping them win the game. people may now say "we should have done more to win it though, not cling on to a decision like that." but the fact is, big games are decided by things like that these days, as there is not much in it when the sides are evenly matched. and then of course i can say, well what did Chelsea do exactly, which gave them a deserved victory over us?" Not much.
Sign of Champions? well, they will win the League, but dont tell me yesterdays win is the reason why. that means you're saying they'll win the league cos of luck. they were lucky yesterday however, and these d*ckhead pundits need to get onto it, and fans need to stop repeating what they say.

Spot on as usual, its just the fashion of pundits/broadcasters/newspapers to be right up the @rse of whoever looks likely to win things so that as and when they do they can go on about how they championed/backed them all along.
The problem is that now there are 3 teams, Man Utd, Chelski and Arsenal who are "in fashion", and its a bit sticky for the journo's.
If Middlesborough win and play badly, then they need to add to their squad big time, if Liverpool win and play cr@p then we are light years away from the top three, but if the aforementioned blu eyes win and pl@y poorly, then its the sign of a good team or championship winning team or whatever.

That sums it all up.
