Dont agree with all this chelsea loving

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

dont get me wrong, Chelsea are a super team, who are probably gonna win the lot this season. but what i hate, is that after games like the one against us yesterday, people go on about how resolute they are, how they "dug in right to the very end, and ground out a win, that sums up why they will win the title."  just one thing......THATS B*LLOCKS!!!

That is not the case at all. the case yesterday is that they were outplayed for most of the game, and the team that outplayed them got nothing. and the Chelsea didnt just escape with a draw but three points, due to the fact that      1) they were still 0-0 at half time (which we all know they shouldnt have been, cos we should have had a pen)

2) our playmaker went off injured in the first half, and

3) they scored a sh*tey deflected goal in the last few minutes. thats not "the sign of Champions."  thats just a sign of pure luck.

if we would have been awarded that penalty, the game would have been totally different. no-one would be saying "Chelsea hung in like true Champions."   it all hinges on that decision and other things, not on the way they performed.

i have a feeling a few people on this board are now gonna start saying "yes but thats the mark of a great team, the ability to play badly and still win."  again, THATS TOTAL B*LLOCKS. loads of teams play bad and win sometimes, and the amount that do fairly much evens itself out across the board.  its a sh*tty theory and i hate it. the assessment of yesterdays game should read something like

"Chelsea took three points from under the noses of a Liverpool side who dominated the first half, had their playmaker cruelly injured before the half was out, and had two penalty claims harshly ruled out. the second half was more of an even affair as a result of Liverpool's misfortune in the first. both defences remained strong, and Liverpool were then dealt the cruel blow of a badly deflected shot entering their net, unworthy of being called a 'chance.' This will surely aid Chelsea's Premiership campaign, as even when they look as though they have met their match on the day, a combination of factors out of the two teams control allows them to snatch the three points, after a first half display from Liverpool which surely warranted them the phrase 'deserved winners.'"

lets get this straight. Mike Reilly doesnt play for Chelsea. therefore they should not be getting credit for his decisions helping them win the game. people may now say "we should have done more to win it though, not cling on to a decision like that." but the fact is, big games are decided by things like that these days, as there is not much in it when the sides are evenly matched. and then of course i can say, well what did Chelsea do exactly, which gave them a deserved victory over us?"  Not much.

Sign of Champions?  well, they will win the League, but dont tell me yesterdays win is the reason why. that means you're saying they'll win the league cos of luck. they were lucky yesterday however, and these d*ckhead pundits need to get onto it, and fans need to stop repeating what they say.
its not the chilli sauce on kebabs that give you ring-sting, its the actual meat. had one without chilli, and still had ring-sting. the chilli's only there to mask the nonsense they stuff inside that bread.

Perfect absolutely perfect, these things were also said after the Everton game about how they deserved to win, though at the time the pundits didn't realize that all it would take was one loss to deconstruct Everton, and possibly a defeat against Barcelona and a Bankrupt owner will bring them crashing back to earth

they were outplayed by us, saying that they played like a champion is just coverup bullsh!t for their confidence. they know they can be beaten, and this just helps them with their focus, nothing more.

:) They didn't deserve to win. Moronio will look at this game and see that his team was outplayed by the reds and if it wasn't for a lucky deflected goal and a dodgy ref they would have been beaten. if the reds had owen or baros playing or any team with that callibre of striker then i'm certain chelski would have been turned over moronio will know yesterday they got out of jail. sad to say howether there are only 2 clubs in the prem with better strikers than chelski. sadly chelski are having the jammy sort of luck that will make them champions.

The way i looked at it yesterday was different. Im not happy we lost a game that should have been our, im sitting here as happy as a pig in sh*te because i now know we have the better manager despite the result. Rafa out foxed Mourinho in many respects yesterday and was clearly a better tactition! He made Chelsea look very average yesterday by making the right choices.

I never had any doubt in Rafa and i was all for him from the start, but im now more confident than ever that Benitez will get us back to were we deserve to be...winning leagues, European cups and domestic cups. Happy times lay ahead.  :)

Well the one good thing that noone has picked up on yet is ,We totally exposed there right wing and every other team in the Epl will have seen that and i expect them to start to lose a couple now ,lets face it Risse is a left back and looked good in midfield ,he shouldve been exposed himself instead of the other way round and for traore to get into a one on one with the keeper really shows how weak there Right flank is.
You read it here first just wait and see

.. it says a lot when an arrogant person like Mourinhio.. concedes he's team were lucky... he knows, we know and ... in time everyone will know that Liverpool are on the way to becoming a force to be reckoned with ...

Arrogant or not I found Mourinho's after-match interview quite refreshing to be be honest. He's a guy with a bit of class and he recognises the same qualities in Rafa. He admitted they were lucky and said it was the hardest game they had been in all season, you can't say fairer than that.
Most of his 'arrogance' has been reserved for rebuffing the childish attempts by Ferguson at 'mind games'. Ever since his success at winding up Keegan (with some admittedly outrageous claims about teams not trying etc etc) he seems to regard himself as some sort of phsycological guru. Sadly, the facts are that in Wenger and now Mourinho and Rafa he is dealing with people of a significantly higher intellect. He'd be well advised sticking to the hairdrier, up and at em approach because he is out of his depth.

.. Mourihnio is a class act.. and Benitez is respected by all managers.. even Fergie.. for all his sh*t at times.. acknowledges Benitez's qualities...

... Mourihnio's arrogance is a breath of fresh air... what a  character.. we need it in the game ...

Jim:

Spot on as usual, its just the fashion of pundits/broadcasters/newspapers to be right up the @rse of whoever looks likely to win things so that as and when they do they can go on about how they championed/backed them all along.

The problem is that now there are 3 teams, Man Utd, Chelski and Arsenal who are "in fashion", and its a bit sticky for the journo's.

If Middlesborough win and play badly, then they need to add to their squad big time, if Liverpool win and play cr@p then we are light years away from the top three, but if the aforementioned blu eyes win and pl@y poorly, then its the sign of a good team or championship winning team or whatever.

Big Jim  brilliant thread , best ive read in a while .

Chelsea knew they were out classed  by our team and Mourinhio out foxed by Raffa .
Every team in the EPL can now see what is happening at Anfield and the potential that is now becoming reality. with  the new players coming online and the list of injuries  becoming smaller  (as it will )  Liverpool will not only be respected but also feared again.

Weve had a lot of injuries , far more than i can ever remember and yet we are still up there , we lost the game  but not  thru being played by a better team  cos Chelsea were not .They were out played  and out classed  and they know it .
Even tho  we didnt get the points , we came out of that game the better team and Morinhio in his defence acknowlged that .
Have to say , even if the guy is arrogant , i much prefer him to Fergie and his encylopidia of excuses .

Mourinho's an honest chap..a bit too arrogant for my liking though...

Tactically, Rafa's much better, however, man-management wise, I have to say Mourinho's brilliant. Probably the best in the business since Clough. He knows how to get into his players' mind and get the very best out of 'em.

Imagine being able to command the respect of a squad full of primadonnas? Not easy but he has managed to do it in such a short time. Newcastle definitely need someone like him to whip dyer and co into shape...they are a really spoilt bunch!!
