hammaan was probably my man of the match yesterday but i do think he is too defensive. its okay putting him in to nullify a particular threat like chelsea`s widemen but in general i`d go 4-4-2 and play gerrard and alonso in the middle.
in possession he always goes sideways or backwards, putting the onus on the defenders to start an attack, he`s a central midfield player and supposedly more comfortable in possession than a centre half so why keep giving it to sami?
when closed down sami or jamie, like 99.9% of other centre halfs will just hoof it down the pitch.
its a lot harder to create a move than to break it up, thats why players like gerrard and alonso are worth their weight in gold.
it looks like didi is going to get a run in the side now, and he has got all the attributes of a good player- even a decent shot. all he needs is a change of attitude when in possession i.e when he gets the ball take a look up the field to see whats on, if nothings on THEN pass it square or back, instead of instinctively passing it backwards all the time.
