From a football fan's point of view, P1SS POOR game of football.

From a Liverpool fan's point of view, THREE BLOODY POINTS AND A CLEAN SHEET.

The game was horrid and Southampton came to pick up a point. We hardly created any chances but a great Alonso pass to Pongolle and we were up by one. Apart from that players like Garcia,Diao and Riise at times gave the ball away too much. I only hope that Finnan recovers because if he doesn't we will be seeing Diao against Chelsea and if that happens it will be a long game at Anfield.

Lacked hunger and heart and hardly put any effort into the game, scrappy scrappy victory.

Baros picked up a slight injury so I can understand why he did not play and looks like Kewell will be out until March. Too poor of a game to give any ratings really I am just glad it is all over.

true, lfacfan4life/AB a scrappy and frustrating game but we got the 3 points we wanted. in the second half we were especially poor and tired looking. my main worry from the game is that in the second half especially soton made us run around a hell of a lot hunting the ball - i fear we may not be particlularly fresh for the chelsea game.

and another bizarre rafa substitution. why bring on diao? i'd have brought on traore in the CB position and moved JG to right back. diao had another stinker - in short, a liability.

Well Traore wasn't all that good against a poor West Brom side so I guess Rafa didn't want to take a risk. But even if we did bring on Traore I don't think he would made much of a difference.

It might be good that we didn't play at our best because we play Chelsea and it is important to save our strength and energy for a top side. Finnan could had probably continued to play on but Rafa didn't want to take a risk which is a good thing.

but surely a back four of riise, hyppia, traore and carragher is better than one of riise, hyppia, caragher and diao? he just looked such a liablility every time he got on or near the ball and i'm sure its not a coincidence that soton came back into the game when he was on.

Well I'm sure Rafa knows that Diao is garbage as he said that Diao isn't any good in the back four[not any good in any position for that matter] so I don't think we will see him against Chelsea, Rafa isn't stupid to do that against such a good side.
