and pongolle IMHO is a better player. i never rated dyer that much - ok, he's quick but doesn't have much guile or imagination. i reckon pongy has these qualities and more and we'll be seeing more of them as he plays more games.

Agreed he remind me abit of c.ronaldo with his tricky on the ball when he could just put crosses in his good at coming off the bench and making things happen. Mellor is more highly spoken off cus his english but i think Sinama pongolle is the more all round player but his cousin is the better of the two and can play up front aswell but his best posistion is a Rosicky,Aimar, Ronaldinho type role  :)

I can't understand some peoples vendetta's against Dyer.

He's not what he was made up to be a few seasons ago when he was at his best, but he's by no means ******. He's still a very good player. His physical attributes are superb and he's always a willing runner if someone supplies the right passes. He can also beat a man and links up well with other players.

Technically he's decent and he works hard. The main problems are attitude and consistency. His best position is right midfield but he's moaned in the past when he's played there. He'd be good for us at the right price, but the rumours ******. If I was Benitez and he was available for the right money i'd go for him. He's better than our other options on the right side of midfield.

Benitez won't deal with players who have big egos and who demand certain things. i.e. La Tellac said he wanted to play first team football,etc.... so Benitez shipped him off on a loan to France. Danny Murphy wasn't in his plans and got the boot.

Three seasons ago I would have agreed with your post , but Dyer has not fulfilled the potential that seemed so obvious a few seasons ago. I'd rather hang on to Pongo .

Dyer is the perfect example of how talent is wasted through lack of application.

A guy who has no problem in taking his lad out and having a slash in the centre of Newcastle in front of hundreds of people is not someone I want to see in a Liverpool shirt.
