If we don't qualify for the Champions League there won't be much money left over if we sign Cisse. If that happens (and Houllier stays) we will almost certainly have to sell Heskey.

We need quality now that will walk into the first 11 and improve the team. Not first division wingers, not first division centre halfs. We need proven class. Malbranque, Cisse, Boumsong, the two latter having played international and europian football.

We can't afford more squad players who can do a job untill... we need class now otherwise we aren't going to move forward.

Houllier HAS to assume now all the younger players aren't going to improve and look at ways to improve the team right now.

I was shocked when we signed Pongolle and Le Tallec as two "major" buys in the summer in light of Houllier's five year plan. I think he misled us and it is really a rolling five year plan!

I think both players could do an ok job for the short term, and I think that signing Wiltord on a Bosman is an "alternative" to signing Cisse, allowing us to spend the Cisse money on Scott Parker and Stted Malbrnaque.

Why tho? i'd rather see Baros than Wiltord in all honesty.

And the worst area of the team is the strikerforce. Milan Baros is the worst player in that first 11. Not that he's bad, but he's the one where there is most room for improvement.

I'd say a striker and a centre half are more important than another defensive midfielder and a play maker.

As much as i want Malbranque, the priorities must be a class, pacey centre half and Cisse.
