Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby oldredeyes » Wed Aug 27, 2003 3:44 pm

I overheard our Board of Directors discussing the short list for the man who will take over from GH. Apparently it's down to the last three. They are Ken Dodd, Johnny Vegas and Gerry Marsden. Gerry is favourite because he knows the words to our anthem. I wouldn't put anything past the bird brains who run our precious club these days. Keep smiling boys - change is in the wind. :D

what about capello? The next manager of livepool is going to have to deal with the same bunch of players, we no longer have millions to fork out clearing out the s##t, so capello might be perfectly suited - italian, defensive, stiffle the other team and winning one nil. not pretty but effective and he has a better idea about how to play this type of football than houllier

Although I have a feeling that O'Neill will be our next manager I do like Keegan and wouldn't object at all if Houllier pi**ed off back to France and Keegan replaced him. Can you imagine the buzz around Liverpool if that happened.
I know about Keegans past  - some might say that he bottled it at Newcastle and England. An alternative view might be that he was so passionate that he couldn't deal with failure. But isn't that kind of passion exactly what is missing at Anfield? Can anyone say that Houllier has ever cared much when we fail yet again - no just the same old clinical worn out excuses.
Some might say that Keegan is tactically naive - for Christ sake at least he's got a bit of a clue. Houllier wouldn't know a clue if he fell over one so long is it since he's had one.
Keegan seems to have matured a bit since he went to City. He got them promoted - kept them in the Premiership when many backed them to drop down and he's done it on far less resources than Houllier has had.
Plus they're playing a lot better football than Liverpool are. Keegan seems to have got Anelka sorted out and I bet he'd  have grabbed Litmanen if he'd had the chance.
Keegan might be good for Liverpool so he's worth a shout. But at the end of the day we have got to get rid of Houllier.

lads just been talking to a guy who knows this guy that can clone people on the cheap.  If we all chip in and can get some of Shanks DNA we are elected.  Failing that I like Gordon Strachen or if he's not available Alex Ferguson but only if the DNA thing does'nt work out.

Be fair - he could hardly do it at West Ham so I can only assume you are joking

Again another thread from a while back, reading the posts I don't see any calling for Benitez to be our successor to Mr Houllier. But again it still holds truth for today and even though there's already a thread where there's a list of who people want as our manager, I thought I'd bring this 1 back so people could see who was being tipped before Benitez.

Now as it's known, I'm not a huge fan of Benitez, but I'm glad we got him to who's names were being thrown round. Roedar, Toshack, Keegan and McClaren :D . Keep Rafa on if it's the same choices for his successor as it was for his predecessor. I still want Jol though.

4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

should have know this thread would be brought back by the likes of you (rafa hater ) you wanna know why the team has no confidence at the mo its cos of people like you pessimists who choose only to see the bad side of everything and do nothing but moan . if you put the same amount of effort into getting rid of G&H as you do rafa the club might be better off.
