Greenred mate, you have got me wrong here.

My only point on this thread is that it is unfair of established members of this forum to gang up on a new member for having a different opinion to "the norm".

I did not say I agreed with his opinion, I am simply defending his right to have an opinion, wether it be mine or not.

However on your point, I have said a million times, I have no problem with people from the moon supporting Liverpool. What I have in the past had a problem with, and what I dispute on here, is the validity of members comments who do not attend the game, but I do not question their right to have a view or support the team.

This is a new member, with a different view to yourselves and everyone is jumping on the bandwagon baiting, taking the michael and ganging up.

Forget about the clique and welcome new members, whatever their views.

BANG Out of order there people.

Leon, this particular newbie deserved all the sh*t he got (and continues to get). Hence the lack of warm welcome.

So no, NOT bang out of order. If you come on here dishing out cr*p, expect to get it back with interest.

Why does he deserve it?

Did he racially abuse someone?

Did he slur our supporters on the Hillsborough tradgedy?

Did he kill someone?

No, No and No again.

He simply expressed his opinion, then had the town halls to stick by his guns instead of joining the herd of backslapping sheep on here with a collective opinion.

I applaud the lad.

Leon mate, diaponeer annoyed a lot of people here with his ooter comments, fair enough, which is his opinion, fair enough, but he has spent most of his posts on that one single issue, forcing it down people's neck.

Raising the issue is ok and it was debated, but diaponeer got on his soap box yesterday and the day before replying to every thread by saying "Support your local team" and calling people Mancs. It got tiresome and boring: he wasn't content in making his point and then moving on, instead he just kept saying it and saying it, to the point that it got extremely irritating.

He also made some really stupid remarks about the club and team which shows that despite his claim that he goes to all the home games as a result of his job as a steward, he has no understanding of the game whatsoever.

Maybe there was a bit of an initial over reaction to diaponeer's initial posts and people took his comments as being racist (they were ignorant, but not in my opinion racist) but diaponeer just kept bleating on about it, which annoyed people.

Last night diaponeer just started being abusive to members in general, and he got abuse back, but he deserved every single bit of what he got.

He has come on to the forum not to give his opinion and engage in intelligent debate, but to try to force his uninformed and misguided opinions down people's throats, and worst of all, simply looking for attention like a big child.

I think Leon by saying that you applaud him has less to do with diaponeer and more to do with your opinions of existing members, am I right?  ???

Leon you do a lot for this site and everyone appreciates it but you shoot yourself in the foot when you say you applaud someone who comes on just to give opinions about ooters and foreigners etc, and just to give sh*t to people in general.
the only reason you applaud him is cos you think the same yourself (about ooters) no matter how much you try and backtrack.

that d*ckhead deserves all the abuse goin. he obviously comes on to start that sh*t, and probably just buzzes off it. in itself thats fair enough, he's just havin a buzz, and sometimes i can see it as funny. but you've got to be prepared to take all the sh*t that comes your way if you do that.
its not the chilli sauce on kebabs that give you ring-sting, its the actual meat. had one without chilli, and still had ring-sting. the chilli's only there to mask the nonsense they stuff inside that bread.

Leon, you misinterpret (deliberately I suspect) what has been going on with dapioneer. I fully support his right to come on here and express his opinions (within obvious limits), just as he should support my right to reply to his abrasive comments in a similar fashion. No he hasn't picked particular below-the-belt issues such as Hillsborough or race, but you cannot argue that many of his posts have not been deliberatly abusive to OOTers, myself included. It's water off a duck's back to me and doesn't offend me in the slightest, but he can and should expect to take some flak back himself.

It is not a matter of a clique ganging up on him. He just happens to have a view which irritates a large number of forum members so the abuse he took from several different directions was a product of just that, not a co-ordinated attack on a newbie. Defend him if you like, that's fine by me, but as JBG suggests, I suspect  your motive owes more to sharing some of his opinions rather than a desire to protect free speech
