Team v portsmouth - And predictions please!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

in my opinion the team should be:

dudek

finnan
riise
hyppia
carra

hamann
alonso
gerrard

pongolle
baros
mellor

i reckon the three lads together up front would really work against a team like portsmouth, it wont give them a chance to get out of their half like agaisnt olympiakos, with alonso gerrad and hamann picking up the pieces and driving us forward, we need to go for it and get a good win under our belt!

im going for a 2-0 win (with us no doubt missing about 8 clear cut chances as usual!)

is baros fit?
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

if it was me i'd go for something like this

----------Dudek----------
Finnan-Carra-Hyypia-Riise
------Alonso-Hamann------
---------Gerrard---------
-Pongolle--------Kewell--
----------Baros----------

having said that i wouldn't be surprised if nunez started ahead of sinama-pongolle and hamann was omitted for mellor as an extra attacking option.

i hope pongolle keeps his place in front of nunez as he has showed some decent form recently, where as i havnt been impressed by Nunez SO FAR.

i'm a big fan of pongolle, especially since he made vieira and ljungberg look like complete mugs with that audacious turn at anfield. :D

i actually mentioned the possibility of using him down the right flank earlier this season which provoked some interesting debate. i would like to see him get a chance upfront alongside baros to be honest.

yeah pongo seems to be doing very well for the games he has come in for, he offers something different with his trickery and pace, and he scored a crucial goal against the greeks! i reckon he deserves a start tonight cos in a derby match its hard to play any sort of football cos its so scrappy but i think it will suit him tonight against portsmouth with us being at home and having alonso as a definite starter!

Don't like 4-3-3 Formation, it's never work for us.

I reckon Rafa use 4-4-1-1 again.

--------------Dudek------
Josemi       cara  hypia    rise

finnan    alonso Gerrard   Kewwel

          Flo       Baros

2-0 Finnan and pongolle.
I would be a proffesional footballer if i wasn't limited by my lack of talent.

its do or die tonight for some of the team ,if Dudek is poor tonight i can not see him ever getting back into the team, Josemi has loads to prove and so does Traore(i am sorry i have never liked the guy).
it would be good if Josemi can play the whole game and not get booked.
