The Liverpool related millionaires in Four Four Two magazine's Football Rich List 2005...

Current Anfield chairman David Moores makes it into the top 25 (at 24th). The 58 year old co-founder of the Littlewoods empire is said to be worth £180m. Moores currently holds a 51% controlling stake in the club but this has been under pressure from bids from Steve Morgan (see below) among others recently.

Moores' stake in the club is said to be worth £80m and his share in the Littlewoods company, which recently diversified into stores and mail order, should be at least £100m.

However, Moores' rival Steve Morgan - a controversial character around Anfield - is ranked 14th with an estimated worth of £320m. Morgan is shareholder in the club who made his money when he set up a construction business 30 years ago from a £5,000 loan. That business grew into one of Britains biggest housebuilders - Redrow Homes. Morgan sold almost £240m of shares in 2000 and has a remaining £54m.

Morgan also has a £65m stake in De Vere leisure group and a share of a new £50m leisure complex in Majorca. He is said to be wanting increase his 5% stake in Liverpool by injecting £75m into the club.

Reds boss Rafael Benitez is ranked tenth in the managers list, with a more modest £14m estimated worth. The 44 year old Spaniard will earn more than £10m from his five year contract on Meresyside and his past earnings at Valencia mean he is worth the £4m now.

Former Liverpool stars Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler are ranked 92nd and 67th respectively in the overall 100 hist.

32 year old McManaman is worth £15m - mostly from earnings at Real Madrid and a reported £1m settlement he took when he joined Man City where he is now on 35,000 a week (and not playing!). Boot deals and endoresements, coupled with his Real pay off gave him earnings of £4.25m in 02-03. Macca has also invested in property and other assets bringing his worth to the £15m mark.

Fowler though has an impressive estimated worth of £28m - mostly due to the Scouser shrewdly investing heavily in property, with over 80 properties to his name. He has earnt more than £9m in endorsements, including a lucrative deal with Nike, and has had £3.78m to be paid to him by former club Leeds. His company, Fowler Sports Promotions has £1.58m net assets bringing his total worth to almost £30m and he is yet to hit 30 years.

Another now departed Liverpool forward, Michael Owen is ranked 62nd, £2m ahead of Fowler. He is said to have earnt more than £7.5m in 2002-03 through wages (70k) and endorsements with Umbro (£1.8m), Lucozade, McDonalds, Pepsi, Walkers crisps, Nestle cereals, Tissot watches and Jaguar. Owen, like Fowler, also invested in property - purchasing a whoe street for his family. With almost £15m earnt in the last two years, past earnings, succesful racing and bloodstock interests and his share in the £8m summer transfer to Real, he is easily worth £30 million.

Former players Kevin Keegan and Graeme Souness are also ranked in the top ten managers. Keegan is joint third with Arsene Wenger with a worth said to be £7m, while Souness isn't far behind in equal sixth with £5m to his name.

Of the top 20 players, kop hero Steven Gerrard just makes it in even at the age of 24 with £5m to his name and on a reported £90,000 a week that can expect to go up rapidly. Owen (3rd), Fowler (4th), McManaman (11th) all feature along with once Liverpool - and reported future - striker Nicolas Anelka who is reportedly worth £12m - another grateful recipient of Real Madrid's generosity!

Somehow the likes of Gary (£7m) and Phil (£5m) Neville, Duncan Ferguson (£10m) and Andy Cole (£5m) also make the top 20 players list. It goes without saying that heading the list is Chel$ea billionaire Roman Abromovich with a worth of £7.5b - billion, not million!. Whilst reading this article Abramovich will have made £19,000 (or more if you read slow!). That's £5.4m a day. Enough to cover the £212m he has spent in two years at the helm at Stamford Bridge.
