Mourinho - Says no

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby jonnymac1979 » Fri Dec 10, 2004 3:35 pm

Just watching Sky Sports News; a live interview with Jose Mourinho.

He has just said he will not be prepared to make a renewed bid in January for Steven Gerrard.

He said Liverpool were very lucky to have such a fantastic player.  He would not comment on the possibility of making a bid for him at the end of the season.

It's going to be another circus next summer isn't it?  There are that many opinions and threads on this, it's taking over what is actually the most important thing - the team.

I think we would cope if he left, we have always replaced players, life goes on, but it's getting ridiculous now.

As long as he doesnt go to the mancs JMC that would be a killer :(
and they are gona put a bid in for him, if he goes it will be to Real. as not 2 play against us a few times a season.

No chance, he wouldn't goto the scum, he hates them as much as us, also they couldn't afford him and they only just scraped the money together for Rooney

I've just watched the interview again.  When asked about making a bid for him next summer, Mourinho simply said "Too far", but he had wry smile on his face.

It's doing my head in all this.

Man U will definately bid for him. Heres one to bear in mind, I'll bet anybody as much as they like that Stevie ALREADY KNOWS WHERE HE IS GOING. Having said that, a typically pointless Mickie statement 'cos none of us can prove it but you get my point.  :D

I know, how is Beni suppose to plan 'long term' when he doesn't know if his captain and one of his best players is going to be there in the summer  :(

You have to consider the teams at the top of the prem Arsenal, Chelsea and the scum all want him and will start bidding for him.
The best option if he goes will be abroad as not to be facing him 2-3 times a season, but if he goes to Real there transfer funds are dried up some what, and the deal would be in installments say over 5 years.
But its not the best offer for us financially, Also not good would be to go to chelsea that would make them complete and no one will beat them.
Now to the scum he would be the final piece in the jigsaw for them, Keanes finished he would be a replacement for him, his mate fat @rse rooney is there,.
Then there is arsenal he would be guarenteed to be playing in a team who already have fantastic players, and there youth are going to be the future title contenders.
No win situation for us im afraid.

The speculation will not end until Gerrard is more careful with the media. He takes the bait too easy at interviews. I think he needs a crash course from the Dalglish school. He needs to say much less. Keep his thoughts to himself and dont give them anything to bite on.

I just don't see Steven Gerrard leave for Man Utd because Man Utd will have to offer him twice the amount Chelsea did in the summer. Man Utd have already spent 30 million on Rooney and I don't see them spending 40-55 million on Gerrard. Mourinho said that he wasn't going to bid for any player come January so I don't see Gerrard leaving this January nor this summer because of Rafael Benitez.

if its true that he doesn't want to go abroad then the only teams in the running are man u, arsenal and chelsea. and i wouldn't believe a word that smug git mourinho ever says... think about perez at real madrid and his regular denials about buying players.

my money is still on chelsea. but any of those three would p*ss me off as much as the others. for me if/when he goes i'd like him to b*gger off to japan or something where we can just forget him and move on.

Please don't forget that Real Madrid could easily snatch Gerrard.
