Wow. Take a pause and breathe. Yes it was a good win. But we should not try to kid ourselves, thinking that this was a perfect game. There are ALWAYS one or two things we can improve. Mellor did well today. He is not fit to play a full game, but it looks like he can do a good job for 10 or 15 min as a substitute when the opposition is not 100% fresh anymore. Nice goal and some good runs today from him. I still think he is one or two years away from being a top striker. He needs to work on his fitness, pure and simple. Sinama did really well in the second half. The two goals away to spurs seems to have worked wonders for his self confidence. Today he was not afraid of holding the ball and taking on defenders. One goal, one assist + some trickery. Good game. Kirkland has a bit to go before he can be counted as a top class goalie. Let's only hope he can learn from his mistakes. I do not know how easy it is to improve a goalkeepers footwork and reflexes, but those areas needs improvement and he needs to improve FAST. Hyypia did not have a good game. He lost the ball too many times, and he was also outpaced a couple of times. Thank god for Carragher saving his @ss with some crucial interventions. If we are to challenge for major throphies we cannot afford to leak in our defence. My position is clear. Hyypia MUST be replaced. One of the worst performers so far this season, Kewell, did reasonably well today. He worked a bit harder. Maybe his fitness is coming back again. I hope so, we need him at 100%. Nunez will get better as his fitness builds, and Baros is also coming back. I think we will see a better team in two weeks if Kewell, Baros and Nunez can stay injury free and get more fit. Gerrard scored a good goal and was a true leader out there today. That goal alone was worth 10 million punds and it was an emotional moment for all reds around the world.
I do not see why people come on here AFTER THE FACT and slate people sharing their views at half time. Lets be honest. At half time we were dead and buried. We did not create a lot of chances, played with three half fit players, and looked shaky in defence. If you had made a bet of 10 pounds at the bookmaker you would have walked with 250 pounds after 90 minutes. How many of you did that? Liverpool scoring three goals in 45 minutes against a well organized team?
