Just back of my hols I watched little yeovil show Gh's Team how football should be played. The first halve preformance was brilliant. Finishing, finishing, finishing is the difference between Liverpool and Yeovil. Thats too little a gap for me.

I look at some of the posts on this forum and wonder what cloud most of the GH faithful have been on this xmas. Maybe I do everyone a diservice and they are not fickle but still full of the xmas spirit literally (I mean).

Yeovil town game is the Nadir in Houliers career at liverpool. He has'nt got a clue. I take everything I've said about Houlier back. Any credit I have ever given him, any thanks, any pludits. Truth is He is a joke. Any dickhead could have taken Liverpool to Yeovil and won. But this idiot decided to play a lone centre forward against a third division side who for 71 mins were totally in the game. He gave them hope and nearly managed to lose the game.

Ah ## Perhaps I've just discovered the truth about GH. He sets about trying to lose games because, he is actually not a Liverpool fan after all. No in fact he is bitter Everton fan who wants pay back for the 70s and 80s. He is doin g a bloody good job of it. For all those fickle fans out there Wise up! But enjoy this victory it may well be the highlight of the season. In the now imortal words of Bonnie Tyler, Where have all the good men gone?

With regards to Big Al's point about 'finishing' in the first paragraph of the previous post, I think that Liverpool's inability to be able to finish at the moment is reminiscent of a division three side struggling to survive the drop. Let's face it, without Owen and Gerrard we are just not clinical enough going forward.
Similarly, as the old football cliche goes :'you work from the back', our defence is shaky at the best of times.

A lot of people have been inserting posts recently complaining about how a majority of our supporters are largely negative towards the team and its efforts this season. I agree with this however, it is firmly justified on the basis that we are having a really bad campaign. If I take yesterday's game against Yeovil as an example, Jerzey Dudek had an amazing game pulling off a number of brilliant saves, overshadowing the frailities apparent in his defence; why was Henchoz playing right-back? We were constantly exposed on their left-wing - bad mistake Houllier. Equally, by playing Pongole - who in my opinion has not established himself yet as a worthy first-team player - as a lone striker, was also a bad managerial mistake. Despite his many critics, Emile Heskey came onto the field and played brilliantly, by raising the spirits of the other lads. By using Sunday's FA Cup game as an example, it shows how Liverpool blow's hot and cold and how there is not a consistent, reliable framework in our team.

I agree with both of you have only one thing to add to this. GH was quoted as saying the performance againts Yeovil was 'marvelous'. Not only is this an indication of his low standards and expectations of our beloved Liverpool FC, and poor mental state, it also begs the question: if the manager thinks THAT performance was 'marvelous' what is that saying to the players? No wonder we are having our worst season for years - the manager has dropped his expectations to that of a mid table Div One side.

Impressing against 3rd division teams?!?!! Perhaps Heskey has found his level!

I'm sure we've all seen what Heskey is capable of but it takes a bit more consistency to make a quality striker. I think he should go back to Leicester or some other average Premiership/div 1 side where he would be of considerably more value

Welcome back Al.I agree with you on yesterdays performance which was inept.However its a no win situation playing a team like yeovil so a scrappy win is just about acceptable.Newcastle at home will be a different proposition.

I agree, the result is what counts. But someone should tell the manager, who said the performance was 'magnificent'. Now THAT is NOT acceptable.

Yeah i know mate... the fact that its the game of there lives you'd hope they'd be up for it. did they kick the ball in the second half? didn't think so.

As much as you want liverpool to fail it didn't happen. The better team won. just becuase we didn't tonk them 8-0 doesn't mean we're sh##e. for f##ks sake get some perspective do you think we'd put the same performance in everry game? thats probably the hardest thing to do... motivate yourself for a game which u know if u give 30% in you've got it in the bag.

or doesn't that word (perspective) apply to you? no wonder the clubs in a rut when idiots like you complain when we win a f##king match... grow up or "support" someone else.

mind you... as long as Houllier is out of a job you couldn't care less about the state of our club obviously.

Stu_the_red I'm glad you came back on my points mate because I suppose in a way it was you I was getting at when I talked of being on a cloud.

Perspective, I think you'll find that means getting various views or outlooks. Maybe I'm wrong mate but that's what I was doing. You don't have to take my opinion as being Gospel but at least do me the courtesy of accepting that I, like you as a member here am intitled to express my opinion. Time will tell who is wrong and who is right so I'll let Destiny or fate be the judge.

As for some of your other comments. Out of the mouths of babes so to speak, you say the club is in a mess. Your too right, and I blame it on Houlier. That's my veiw take it or leave it and I'm proud to be on a list of Houliers critics such as Alan Hanson, Ian St John and Mark Lawerenceson to name but a few.

Secondly why are you so uptight about a Liverpool fan talking to other Liverpool fans about what he thinks is wrong with the club, the team and even the subjective veiws of other fans. As I said time will tell. Its the start of a new year Stu don't take a heart attack mate.

Well said Al. Stu, sorry to say it mate and Im not being funny like, but you gotta be trippin mate.
I love the Reds as much as anyone and I hope to God that we turn things round but Houllier is not the man to do it. Hes too predictable (just like our play). Yesterday when the second sub came on my missus asked me who GH was bringing on and I said without seeing, probably Cheyrou, and there he was. The point is I was joking and couldnt believe it when he did send him on. The team selection, tactics and results are becoming all to easy topredict and have been for some time now. Is it just me or can anyone else see it, that when were not having such a good game, within 5 mins of the second half starting you know what the result will be. The body language of the players shows it all too often.

i agree results are what counts, but it is a little embarrassing when a 3rd division side give you the run for at least 45mins. And then for GH to say it was a 'marvelous' performance........yeah by yeovil! god help us against newcastle. Hopefully Diouf WILL be going to the african nations cup. Only time will tell with regards to GH, at this rate there's not a cat in hells chance of us getting a champions leage spot!

Great comments Lisa on Mr. Diouf. Am I the only Red who thinks he's a waste of money? How much did we pay for him? £9,000,000 was it?! Against Yeovil he looked ordinary, and kept bloody falling over anytime anybody got near him! Cant we have players who take pride in wearing the Red shirt? It can't just be Stevey Gerrad can it? Lots of questions I know, but I'm getting desperate! So may questions, and Monsiuer Houllier is not giving us the right answers. Will wait til end of season to see but at the mo. I say fifth or six if we're lucky.

Big Al's comments are spot on regarding this..........we were awful in the first half against a spirited but poor team. The performance from our highly paid so called athletes was terrible. If they had scored in the first half to take the lead, we would not have had the character to recover.

We are all Liverpool fans but we are stsing the obvious.......Houllier is a clown, his tactics are inept and his team plays poor quality football. There is absolutely no consistency. We could beat Chelsea tomorrow and follow it up with a defeat at home to Villa and fail to score away from home against Spurs.

For a club which was once, not so long ago, one of Europe's finest, we have fallen a long, long way. I am amazed that Houllier doesn't have the dignity just to leave. That would be the honourable thing to do.

I hate Diouf. He's a spoilt brat and an average player at best. I've hated him ever since he spat at our fans and made the lame excuse tapping someones head is seen as an insult in Senegal. Maybe if he had played well since then I may have forgiven him, but we all know that hasn't and will not happen. He's simply not good enough.

And we paid more than £11 million for him. Ouch!
