Wait, I thought you can make a total of 5 changes? We made a sixth one with Quansah.

FT: Liverpool 3-1 Southampton

Not worried about the final score and the tepid first half. Today is all about getting the points and keeping the players injury free to finish the job in mid week

We have daylight now over Arsenal

Well, yeah like the commemt above says we only needed the 3 points and to not get any injuries and we did that. We wern't great though and the players looked leggy, I hope we don't play like this against PSG as well. On the other hand we did have only 2 days rest after coming back from a tough game in Paris, so maybe a performance like this should have been expected.

Anyway, I don't understand why Slot insists on playing the same players over and over again. Both Szoboszlai and Gravenberch played like their legs were heavy and shouldn't have started at all IMO. Elliot and Endo are good enough to be getting a start against bottom of the league teams at home, especially when key players like the two mentioned need rest.

Got job done, main thing 3 point and closer to glory.

I agree above post, Slot persistence is going burn out some of the lads. With Klopp the problem was the high tempo footy that burnt out lads and with Slot it's consistently playing same lads. Salah needs a break also, frigging give Chiesa some mins.

Anyhow, thought 2nd half we were much better, first half looked typical.

Whether we rate Darwin or not we have to agree last few games his played pivitol role. Assisted Eliot goal, by winning our only duel vs psg.
Today, equalising and winning peno.

Well as I’ve always said, WE DONT DO EASY !! Once again Slot uses his substitutions to maximum affect. Great to see crazy Darwin doing so well after his incredible assist against PSG. Took his goal brilliantly and won a penalty by making a nuisance of himself. He also did some great defensive work in the first half other than getting a very silly yellow card. Mo doing excellent work under pressure to convert both penalties.

Great result. A 16 point lead in the title race certainly gives Arsenal plenty to think about.

They were allowed to replace a player with concussion which gave us an extra sub.

Weird rule that. I get them being able to replace a concussed player but it wasn't our player so I don't know why we got the advantage.

Cheers for the info.

Agreed though, weird that we get an extra sub as well.

Yeah we are not playing well, Everton, Wolves, City, PSG you name it but we are showing a lot of character and resilience and we are finding ways to get the job done which is the sign of a top team. Anyone can win when they are playing well, winning when you are not playing well isnt so easy.
Unfortunately from here on in every game we play just keeps on increasing in importance, in fact until we get the league wrapped up mathematically the Carabao Cup final is probably our least important game yet its a Wembley final and a chance to add silverware to our trophy cabinet. That just shows you how well our lads have done this season and how high the stakes currently are, we are right in the mix for the 2 biggest prizes in the club game.
Like you i feel fatigue is the key, when our lads are fit and full of energy i think we'd give any team on earth a run for their money. We've got to somehow get energy back into the lads legs, wether that involves days off, light training, allowing them to sleep in of a morning....whatever, we just need to find a way of doing it because atm we look like a 400m runner who's leading the race down the home straight but is clearly starting to slow down and lose form as lactic kicks in.
Actually United could do us a big favour by beating Arsenal today, getting the league wrapped up as early as possible would be a massive help.

We need something like 18 points to wrap up the league assuming that Arsenal win every match, that’s 6 wins from 9 matches.

5 wins and a draw now mate after Arsenal could only draw at Old Trafford. Arsenal play Chelsea next week too, might even come down even further without us playing.
