As good as Paris were we had chances on the break before we scored but our final ball was terrible. Mo is particular butchered a couple of really good opportunities. Darwin made a big difference when he came on because he gave us a presence up top, Diogo was far too lightweight

Passing was completely off, we had no cohesion at all. I can't remember a game where we were outplayed for 90 mins. I hope we tune up things at Anfield because this game will give psg confidence, even though they 1-0 down.

Worst game of the season and it wasn't close. Well, maybe if you count Plymouth, but that was the reserves....
What a smash and grab....

How many times have we dominated sides only to be sucker punched and lose? Real Madrid won a f*cking CL final against us in this exact way.  Happy to be on the oposite side for once.

Still one more game to be played which will again be very difficult but we did a fantastic job in this first leg.

PSG was in red hot form and probably in the best form of all the teams in the tournament. If we could get past them then we probably could go all the way. Without the best keeper in the world we certainly would have lost last night. The team is answering questions about themselves as a team that we are very hard to beat. Fantastic team performance against a very good side and we came out on top. Can PSG play with that same determination and energy? If they do it would be a tall order to beat a team like that twice. Massive match on Tuesday and certainly not a gimme,  hopefully another magical European night.

Liverpool's stunning win in stats

Liverpool won this match despite having 25 fewer shots than PSG - the joint-largest negative difference in shots by a winning team on record in a Champions League knockout stage game.
Liverpool kept their sixth clean sheet in nine Champions League matches this season.
PSG had 27 shots in this match - the second-most on record by a side in a Champions League knockout match in which they both failed to score and lost, behind only PSG themselves against Borussia Dortmund last season.
Liverpool have won three successive matches while keeping a clean sheet each time in all competitions for the second time this season, and first since doing so in their first three games under Arne Slot.
Paris SG have now lost each of their last four knockout stage games against English sides in the Champions League.
Harvey Elliott's goal in the 87th minute, his first touch after coming on as a substitute, was Liverpool's latest ever winning goal in a knockout stage match in the Champions League.
Elliott has scored three goals in four Champions League appearances this season, more than he netted in his first nine appearances in the competition.
Alisson made nine saves against PSG, the most on record by a Liverpool goalkeeper in a single Champions League match.

The character in our team is deffo worth a mention, plenty of sides including very good ones would have unravelled and come apart at the seams in the face of an onslaught like the one we faced last night. The entire tie could have easily been over there and then. Our players didnt panic, they didnt lose heart over not having much of the ball they just accepted it was going to be one of those nights where they were going to have to roll their sleeves up, dig in, work hard and on occasion ride their luck.
To not throw the towel in mentally when you are getting your ar.se handed to you like that is proper old school Spartan type sh.1t, proper Thermopylae stuff. Everything...sport...life...you name it is easy when you are on top and flying but to have the ability to get up off your knee's when it looks like even the Gods themselves want you to lose that takes a warrior...a real warrior, and there was a bunch of them running around in red shirts last night.

to hold off that kind of onslaught for 87mins and then nick a goal to win it is a good nights work. We did well to keep a clean sheet. Onto the return leg where they will have to come at us... again!

I think this, I will also add that a match like that will confirm the belief the team has in itself and probably be a moment where they knew they could probably make history. Finding a way to win has been our call sign this season.

Tbh I was actually pleased with how we played overall considering the opponent and the way we're capable of just parking the bus when needed is probably the best change under Slot. First half was terrible but second half we did well defensively, and considering we clearly didn't go there with winning as top priority in mind, I thought we did well in containing them similar to how we did against City in the second half against them. The first half was terrible though as I said, but at least it reminded everyone that Ali is (still) among the best if not THE best goalkeeper in the world.

Only thing I thought was bad was our inability to execute a proper counter attack, the front 3 was terrible, Salah especially. Half way through I was thinking how great it would be to sucker punch someone after being dominated as it has often happened to us, but the front 3 messed up chance after chance. Thankfully Slot did the right changes and won us the game.
